This restaurant is a hidden gem (and not just because its barely visable apart from a bright yellow right pointing you down some stairs). I visted here four four nights and never was bored or disappointed with the food, portion sizes or the price! The service was always friendly and accommodating and the menu was extensive with no concern of running out of choice! I do not know how authentic the food was but it was all declious (there was one dish I personally didn't like, but I like to think it was down to my own taste buds rather than the quality of the food) and would have again if I were able to revisit. Out of all of the dishes I had, I recommend the Dushbere and Nargiz soups, Frisinjan Pilaf and both choices of Baklava.

I dined in Nergiz restaurant multiple times, all of which were great to me. The restaurant offered me high quality, tasty and mouth-watering Lyulya Kebab and unforgettable mood-booster American coffee cups. The waiters whom I had experience with were really kind and supportive. There was also one of their staff dedicated to welcome the customers to the restaurant to let them in gently. I sincerely endorse such restaurant and recommend the others to try to dine in it as there are various meal options. It is also characterized in providing calm atmosphere to relax and enjoy eating. I am interested to visit this reputable restaurant again.

Nergiz Restaurant in Baku is located in a cavernous basement. Found it on the internet. Decided to check it out. We were not that hungry yet decided to have a nibble. The greeting was amiable & friendly. And our beers were delivered promptly. We ordered a Chicken Pilaf & a Tuna Salad. I must say… the bread from the bread basket was soft & pillowy. My Chicken Pilaf was delicious. Tomatoes, eggs and chicken with long grain rice. The Tuna Salad was a good composition with a generous amount of tuna. All in all… Nergiz feels authentic. What we had was yummy. Service was easy and relaxed. And the basement dining rooms were comfortably cool.

Nargis is a place so easy to miss... but if you do, you'll miss out on a fabulous experience. We ate around 7pm and had the Mangal Salad (came with warm focaccia) then the main was the Maiden Tower Pilaf (Plov). The starter was a scintillating light concoction and contrasted well with the bread. The main was well presented, hot and a festival of flavours. Simply fabulous. The restaurant is built underground in what feels like a cavern, but the ambience and atmosphere are relaxing, warm and traditional. Our server Nomet was brilliant, attentive, informative and extremely pleasant. The best 50AZN (25GBP) spent so far.

We a group of 3 couples accidentally landed up at Nergiz Restaurant at Fountain Square at Nizami Street. As the sign board and entry looked quite shady, we were very unsure of whether we should commit ourselves to this place for dinner or not. So some of us went scouting and were pleasantly surprised to see the interiors and type of guests Nergiz was catering too. Anyways we all agreed to try a meal here and was very pleasantly surprised to enjoy a fantastic level of service, and a matching meal. We ordered a Pilaf and boy was it good? I think it will be amongst the highlight of our trip to Baku..

We asked for grilled vegetables and were given frozen vegetables. We complained for this and the waiter said this was obvious from the menu, no - grilled vegetables does not suggest heated frozen vegetables which no restaurant should ever offer that costs 6 manat. The lamb kebab meat was overcooked and tough and hard to eat. The pilaf rice was tasteless and the "qazmakh" was not fried and crispy as it should be. We were so hungry we ate this, but it was definitely the worst food we have eaten in Baku. The nearby Dolma restaurant is much better for a similar price.
