We visited Fisincan Cafe Restaurant in central Baku after seeing a large number of positive reviews on Google Maps. We arrived around noon — it was extremely hot outside, and unfortunately, the interior wasn’t much cooler. The lack of proper air conditioning made it a bit uncomfortable to sit and enjoy the meal.
We ordered Lule kebab and Tike kebab, hoping for a delicious local experience. Sadly, both dishes were underwhelming — the meat was not tender and lacked the softness and flavor we expected. Cooking good kebab requires a certain finesse, which we didn’t find here.
In addition, the tables were placed very close to each other, and the entire dining area felt cramped and tight, leaving little personal space. This added to the discomfort, especially during busy lunch hours.
Towards the end of our meal, a large, attention-grabbing performance started at a nearby table. It seemed like many people might be rating the restaurant based on the entertainment rather than the food itself.
As anticipated for a centrally located venue, the prices were quite high. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and professional, and we had no complaints about...
Read moreRestaurant that had decent food, but unfortunately lacked that special something that sets it apart from other establishments. While the food was satisfactory, it wasn't particularly memorable or unique.
One of the biggest downsides of my dining experience was the live music. While I appreciate the effort to create a lively and enjoyable atmosphere, the music was simply too loud. It made it difficult to have a conversation and enjoy the company of those at my table.
Despite these criticisms, I will say that the restaurant had a few redeeming qualities. The service was good, and the waitstaff were attentive and friendly. The décor was also pleasant, and the ambiance of the restaurant was generally quite nice.
In conclusion, while this restaurant is certainly not the worst I've been to, it's not the best either. If you're looking for a place to eat, it's an option, but don't expect anything out of the ordinary. And if you're looking for a quiet evening with good conversation, you may want to...
Read moreA very nice restaurant to try local food. I would recommend the traditional Plov (Enenevi pilav) if you happen to go there. It is very delicious, though the food there are usually a bit more than required oily! So I would say they have not very healthy but delicious food. The price is normal and reasonable. For example we had two Pilov, a Greek salad and one liter of Ayran and paid around 28 AZN (Manat), which was about 18 USD. The restaurant has two floors and to go to the second floor, which indeed has better decorations and is calmer, you need to take the stairs (which are a bit narrow). The workers are quite nice and friendly and try to accommodate the guests in the best way. The only main issue that the restaurant has is its limited capacity, so sometimes you may need to wait for a while to get a seat! Apart from that, I liked...
