Maharaja Restaurant — Restaurant in Baku City

Unfortunately, the food didn’t feel like authentic Indian cuisine. I was served raw paneer, without any accompanying salad or snacks, and the atmosphere of the place was quite dull.

Having traveled through both North and South India and visited many Indian restaurants across Europe, I was disappointed with the taste and overall experience at this restaurant. Baku is already a challenging place to find a rich variety of vegetarian options, and if this restaurant truly embraced and showcased the diversity of Indian vegetarian cuisine, they could really stand out.

I hope the quality improves in the future. I also found the prices slightly high, possibly due to the English-speaking pub downstairs, which seems to attract many foreigners. While it might be reasonable for those with a higher budget, if you’re hungry and watching your expenses, you can probably find better value...

We recently visited Maharaja Indian restaurant and it was an amazing experience. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the service was impeccable. The staff was friendly, attentive and made great recommendations. The food was outstanding! Every dish was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. We especially enjoyed the dhal, different naans, chicken channa, aluparatha and the - the spices were perfectly balanced and the naan bread was fresh and delicious. They also have a great selection of vegetarian and vegan options. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. Overall, it was an exceptional dining experience and I highly recommend Maharaja to anyone looking for authentic Indian...
