As a MASSIVE craft beer lover I was pleasantly surprised by a visit to Rip Ty’d in Nassau. It was surprising on my visit to see that this is the ONLY true craft brewery on the island. The excellent brews are crafted onsite right next to the tap room as you should expect on a visit to any micro/craft brewery. We tried a couple of flights to get a taste of everything on the menu and were even treated to a brew that wasn’t yet on the menu. We happened to pop in just before a bus tour of the brewery arrived and Nathaniel our beertender included us in the small tour. He briefly explained the history of the brewery and the styles of beer on the menu. As an IPA lover I enjoyed a few pours of the Island Hopper IPA. For the darker beer lovers, the Loose Goat Porter was a tasty change up as well. My wife is a big fan of Sour Ales and Blondes too and she really enjoyed the Sailor’s Tale Blonde ale and the pineapple and watermelon Shandy’s. If you are visiting the island don’t be intimidated by the short distance to the brewery from the port/downtown area. It was only a few blocks away and 15-20 minute walk was well worth the great...
Read moreThe first word that came to mind regarding Rip Ty'd and customer service is simply OUTSTANDING! Being from the North Carolina Charlotte area and having a great knowledge about beer (master cicerone) prior to visiting Rip Ty'd, I contacted the brewery and inquired about their offerings. The staff members were very knowledgeable, provided a great deal of information and were extremely friendly and inviting. On the day of our visit, due to circumstances beyond our control, we were unable to reach the brewery. Due to the many personable emails I had with the staff, we felt bad and my wife sent an email to the brewery and expressed our regrets about not making it. On the same day we were supposed to visit, the owner of Rip Ty'd , Laura, spoke to my wife. She also was disappointed that we couldn't make it. A few hours later, Laura arranged to meet my wife at the pier and personally delivered to her a number of beers. That is OUTSTANDING customer service. The beer Laura delivered was sensational. Impeccable flavor and smoothness. So, if you are ever in the Bahamas, I strongly recommend visiting Rip Ty'd...
Read moreFriendly, clean and great beer...even for a non beer drinker! We were on a cruise and walked to the Queen's staircase and Fort Fincastle, then we walked to this lovely little brewery. It's small and unassuming, but Nathaniel was super friendly and helpful. They offered 7 beers and let us try as many as we wanted. My husband picked his favorites and then ordered a half flight, which gave him 5 ounces eaxh of his 4 favorites. I'm not fond of beer, but tried 6 of them. The watermelon beer was unique. Nathaniel knew I would prefer the Shandy and he mixed it for me a couple of different ways to determine my favorite blend of beer and pineapple juice. I loved it and ordered one once we got the blend established. They offered various snacks, but we weren't hungry. The owner came out and spoke with us before she left to make a delivery. I mentioned to Nathaniel that I collect coins from countries I visit and he found me a color quarter that had been in circulation. We truly enjoyed our stop here. Bahamian style, clean, air conditioned and so friendly and hospitable with great beer. A must...
