I am a regular at Emerald Bakery and Cafe. I tried their most famous items and can't wait to try more. Here's my personal take on their items tadaaaaaa π«Άπ»
Spaghetti Alla Carbonara- They give a lot of it so it's easily shareable between two people. Personally i couldn't eat it at all because it felt like a fish smell with the egg yolk but my friends loved it and finished the whole thing so it depends on your choice.

Chocolate mousse- This is the best dessert i have ever had in Dhaka as of now. It melts as you take it in your mouth. With the price the amount they serve is perfectly shareable between two people. I keep going back for this one all the time. This is a gem π
PS. Sometimes they don't have it available for some reason

Cajun fries- The scent of cajun seasoning was very strong that the moment they put it on our table the scent spread out quickly. They gave pretty good amount of fries and honestly i wanted more after finishing it. Crunchy outside and soft inside and perfectly cut fries that tasted perfect to me.

Shakshuka- Shakshuka's in Bangladesh are more about tomatoes less about eggs and flavor. As usual I've tried it in many places and didn't like any same here with emerald. It's just a lot of tomatoes you know. Me and my friends didn't enjoy this dish even the bread was subpar. Another thing to add is the tomatoes here in bd is sour that's why you don't get the real taste of a shakshuka
Rating -5.5/10
Chicken fricassee- Mashed potato subpar. Vegetables not properly sauteed or whatever it didn't taste good. Chicken fricassee was not for my taste. My friends didn't like it that much either. Never taking it again
Rating - 5/10
Thyme for Citrus- As they wrote in the menu " you will fall in love with this orange juice fused with the goodness of herbs and honey." I didn't fall in love because I don't like the honey flavor in it. Despite my personal taste preference I'd say the drink was pretty good and had a very good blend of herbs, honey and orange. With each sip i got the taste of all the flavors also it was very refreshing. The prices of these are amazingly less compared to most restaurants.

After a steady diet of delicious Bangla food in Dhaka, I long for a salad or two. Emerald Bakery delivered in spades with a yummy farmers market salad with spinach, apples, walnuts, cranberry and feta cheese. Need I say more about the delicious potpourri. The Chickwich, containing fresh grilled chicken combined with chicken ham and sliced pickles lightly dressed with a yummy sauce, was also very good. The fries on the side some of the best I have had. One reviewer commented on the portion sizes, that they were a bit on the small side. I actually think that the portions were ideal although the Chickwich could have been rounded out by a small fruit salad. The basil lemonade drink was very refreshing. Upon my request the honey used in it was provided on the side so that I could make it sweet to my taste. I appreciated the solicitousness. The space is a smartly renovated downstairs of a house on the bustling Road 11 of Banani and has many rooms, so you can make a corner yours. The waiter service is as yet slow but I chalk that up to growing pains. This place is very much worth a visit for someone longing for a change in cuisine in a restaurant landscape dominated by pan Asian food and a spot of quiet, although once this cafe catches on I am not sure it will...

On a rainy evening, I found myself seeking refuge at Emerald Bakery & Cafe, a quaint spot that turned out to be a delightful discovery. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and cozy ambiance that felt like a comforting embrace against the chill outside. The soft lighting, coupled with the gentle hum of chatter and the aroma of freshly baked goods, created an inviting atmosphere perfect for unwinding.
I decided to order a latte, hoping for a simple comfort. To my pleasant surprise, it was served with complimentary cookies, a thoughtful touch that elevated the experience. The latte itself was expertly crafted, with a rich, smooth flavor that was both invigorating and soothing. The cookies were a delightful accompaniment, perfectly crisp and subtly sweet, adding a lovely contrast to the creamy coffee.
The staff at Emerald Bakery & Cafe were friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall experience with their warm hospitality. The decor, a charming blend of rustic and modern elements, added to the cafe's cozy vibe, making it an ideal spot to relax and enjoy a quiet moment.
In summary, Emerald Bakery & Cafe is a gem, offering not just delicious coffee and treats but also a serene escape from the hustle and bustle. It's a place I will definitely revisit for more food options,...
