Another overpriced, mediocre burger joint. They claim to sell smash burgers, but—like many others—they fail to deliver a proper one. There’s no crisp on the patties. Instead of having that seared, caramelized crust you expect from a smash burger, you just get two thin patties stacked together, which is not the same thing.
Their so-called “addictive sauce” is really just a standard burger sauce overloaded with sugar. Instead of elevating the burger, it actually makes it taste worse. The burger as a whole isn’t terrible—it’s just kind of meh.
Also, calling two patties a “double” is misleading. Smash burgers are supposed to be smaller patties by design, and a proper double is two of those stacked with cheese in between. Here, it feels like they’re just serving you half a proper burger and pretending it’s a double. It shows they don’t really understand what makes a smash burger good.
The fries were actually nice—crispy and tasty. But I made the mistake of adding cheese. Whatever that “cheese” sauce was, it didn’t taste like cheese at all. Strangely, the cheese inside the burger was fine, so I don’t understand why the fries got a weird mayo-like cheese-flavored sauce instead.
I know this sounds overly negative, but overall, it wasn’t a bad meal—it was just disappointing. I was really hoping this place would become my go-to burger stop on the way home. To get there, they’d either need to lower their prices while keeping the current quality, or improve their quality while keeping the...
Read moreLike walking in a rock and roll american diner that could have been a hangout for the characters of Stranger Things. Led strips that evoke the neon feeling of the '80s, vinyl plated walls and electric guitars hanging on every wall, this place does not care about subtlety, instead aims straight for the heart. If you love your music with some amplified electric guitars and your burgers with tasty quality ingredients from bun to beef/chicken/lamb/veggie/vegan patty, then look no more. I enjoyed a double smash all star, and the meat was both crispy and juicy, full flavoured, and with some tasty homemade sauce. The fries were Belgian size, crispy and with skin, with some homemade sauce. And here is my only point of improvement if it were up to me: the portion of the fries is very adequate, but the portion of the sauce is a tad small, unless you like to nibble on your fries without dipping to deep. So I ordered an extra portion and all was well.
For this price, I definitely prefer this unique and fresh place compared to the burgerchains close by. There's a new...
Read moreFirst, I can't believe that it's legal in Belgium to have a restaurant with ONLY an English menu. I was gobsmacked- I wanted to see the Dutch or French menu because the English one claimed that this place's fries are "baked." Frites are not "baked." But they only had an English menu- and the server was Italian who spoke very poor English but neither Dutch nor French, which is mostly fine for me as it's my mother language, but how many problems occur because of this? That server moreover couldn't answer any of my questions. Another issue is the atmosphere- the place gives off an Amsterdam "coffee shop" vibe, dark and unpleasant, and they play what I consider the worst music imaginable- "Classic Rock." I had to sit through a LOUD Stairway to Heaven- in 2024. I could go and on about the non-food issues. The food itself was...okay. Burger was super rich and the fries were good (the server said they were "American style." NO THEY ARE NOT. They are good BELGIAN fries which are so, so, so much better than typical American dreck), but I couldn't...
