Pizzeria Leonardo da Vinci — Restaurant in Antwerp

After leaving the nearby Pizza Hut due to inattentive staff that stared absent-mindedly at me whilst waiting to be served, I discovered this small pizzeria. I fully did not expect the reception I received when I entered. Coming into the restaurant, I was immediately greeted with smiles all around and enthusiastic welcoming. I said that I was collecting an order and one of the staff leaps up from his food (yes, I interrupted their meals and they still served me with smiles on their faces) and brings me a menu. A small misunderstanding which he corrected and then the other staff member interrupts his food to help me find my order as well.

Long story short, the service was wonderful and I felt very comfortable and welcomed as if I was a long time customer that had been here for years. The pizza was delicious as well, even though it was cold which was entirely my fault for leaving it too long, but if it was that good when cold, I cannot wait to go back again and have it fresh. 10/10, five stars, nothing but...

The restaurant is in a great location — just a 2-minute walk from Antwerpen Centraal station — and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The complimentary bread and olives were a nice touch.

However, the food itself was underwhelming. The Margherita pizza had a noticeably sweet tomato base and lacked the richness of cheese and oil that you'd expect from such a simple, classic dish. The pasta I tried was well-cooked but quite bland — the flavour just didn’t come through.

Prices are reasonable — not too expensive, not too cheap — but overall, the food quality didn’t justify a return visit for me. I might consider it again on a tight budget, but otherwise, I’d look elsewhere unless the kitchen sees some...

I m giving 1 star just because of the service. I think they forgot every single order we placed. We took a cola, 2 beers (one and then another) and two pastas. Food took over an hour to arrive and i think it was just that because we reminded one of the waiters that we are still waiting for food after 40min. Even beer and cola took around 20 min to be served. I ordered second bottle of cola and never even got it. The food is not that good to be worth the wait so I would strongly recommend to find some other place unless you have 2h you want to spend just...
