Awful experience! Huge frustration, waste of time, and waste of money! And I will explain why: VERY POOR SERVICE QUALITY: We had to wait for an hour after we ordered to get our food. There was only one person taking orders. And the service was super slow. She didn't take notes while we were ordering and she came back to ask again what we had ordered! Also, when we ordered a second drink, they did not bother to take the empty glasses away, so our table was completely full, and I had to rearrange the plates to find some space!
POOR QUALITY OF FOOD: I am Persian, so I know what good Persian food is like. The food here was nothing more than average. We ordered Eggplant as our starter (halim badenjan), which was literally tasteless, and in very very small quantity (even for a starter). For main dish, we ordered Koobideh and Fesenjoon stew, both with rice. Koobideh was OK, but Fesenjoon had a bitter taste, because I assume the walnuts were burned while preparing. The quantity of both main dishes were good.
3.LACK OF TRANSPARENCY: We ordered tea after dinner, and I asked if it was teabag or brewed Persian tea as the taste and scent is so different. And she said it comes in a teapot (which is how we Persians brew tea). To my surprise, it was a teabag in a teapot! So obviously again not the expected quality!
No value for money (we paid 71 euros). Not going...
Read moreI would give this place zero out of 5. I have even contacted the owner via the website but got totally ignored. They really truly do not care, unless you are one of their regulars visiting the place. The owner has no decency whatsoever. She should be taught some matters and basics of the restaurant business. We entered the place on a Thursday early evening, while it was not crowded at all. She did not even care to acknowledge us to say hello (she was on her cellphone on a personal call). Even after her call was finished, she did not care to come and greet and welcome us. During the night, she would repeatedly throw our food on the table, give us no attention, and be extremely rude whenever we would politely ask for attendance to order. She would give a special treatment to people that she did know however, and give them extra big portions etc which made us feel even worse. In the end, when we asked for the bill, she took it out of her card device and threw it on the table. So extremely rude! Never have I ever experienced this at any point in my life!! I would not suggest anyone to visit this place unlike you want a poor treatment! Or unless you know the owner personally. Such a waste of time and money! Hopefully this place gets...
Read morePersepolis is a humble yet delightful spot that truly delivers on quality. From the moment you step in, the warm and welcoming service sets a positive tone for the whole experience. The staff are attentive without being intrusive, frequently checking in to ensure everything is to your satisfaction.
The food is decently portioned and thoughtfully prepared, with a clear attention to balance and taste. It's not overdone or flashy, just genuinely good, home-style cooking with a refined touch. One of the highlights for me was the diversity in the menu, particularly the inclusion of dishes like Ghalyeh Maahi, which you don't often find elsewhere. It adds a special layer of cultural richness that makes this place stand out.
The presence of several non-Iranian guests while I was dining speaks volumes about the restaurant’s growing reputation and cross-cultural appeal. It’s clearly a spot appreciated not just by locals, but by visitors seeking authentic and quality meals.
A lovely final touch was the small complimentary treat from the chef as I was about to leave; a gesture that felt personal and sincere, rounding off the meal with warmth.
Overall, a very worthy place to check...
