Poule & Poulette — Restaurant in Antwerp

The staff were young and friendly but lacking experience. The food was served quickly and was pretty good.

As a group of five, we were asked to not exceed four different meals which was a strange request. Upon questioning we were told this was because this made the service easier for the kitchen staff to deal, which again was strange as there only a handful of tables occupied by customers as it was a quiet Thursday evening.

The staff were unable to answer any questions related to the drinks and made no efforts to find out. The staff asked us to Google it ourselves.

Once the food was delivered, no cutlery or napkins were given. We had to source them ourselves from one of the many empty tables.

The waitress also asked us to leave a 5 star Google review and to say nice things. This was asked before we even received our drinks or food.

Once we finished our food, we asked to split the bill in two. We were told it was not possible. We insisted and asked why it was not possible. We never got a good answer but another server was able to "magically" split the bill for us.

Best Korean chicken wings. It was meaty not just bone. Really crispy and well seasoned. Not dry just perfect. And the dipping sauce of the roasted chicken. Omg, so good I asked if I could get a portion extra (I was willing to pay, it was that good!) to finish at home with the chicken we had in our take away bag. They gave me a generous portion for free. I told them it is so good they should bottle it and sell it in the restaurant. My husband shared his opinion in his earlier review but I think he fell short regarding the service and love for Olann (our 3 y.o. bouvier des Flanders, not just a dog). Elien, our waitress was really kind and sweet with him and gave us some nice recommendations as turists in the city. Very appreciated as the city has so much to offer and we often drive from NL to have a nice meal on the weekends. The only thing to note is the bathroom is in the basement and you get to it thru narrow steps not handicapped friendly. Yet that's the case with mostc restaurants in old cities in Europe.so poule and poulette is fully deserving 5/5 in the 3 categories ranked. Definitely...

One of the worst services I've had in Antwerp. We had to wait over an hour for our simple order of nachos and quesadillas, and after waiting for so long when we asked the staff, they told us that it was 'on its way ' and that they told us that a second cook just arrived, yet it still took 15 minutes for the food to arrive: They clearly had started preparing then, and blatantly lied to us. Not to mention there were so many people that came after us but already had received their orders. All the while, the staff were joking around and ignoring the customers in a condescending way.

Understandably mistakes happen, but the lacklustre way they mishandled this situation doesn't make up for the equally underwhelming food we've received. The nachos were badly microwaved and the cheese didn't properly melt. And for the quesadillas the tastes did not match at all.

All in all, an atrocious experience only made worse by the inexperienced and inattentive wait staff. I suggest...
