To be fair I think the food is not bad especially if you are new to Brussels and want to get a taste of local Belgian food.
I was so disappointed by the service though. The one guy that served us was great but the other guy who was the only blonde hair there and wore a red shirt was so rude. We spoke to him when we arrived but he didn’t even showed us where to sit and brought us the menu. He was behind the bar literally didn’t do anything. We sat there waited around 10 minutes before I had to wave to the other guy and asked for the menu. The same happened when we finished our dish and tried to get the bill. This blonde guy was out and about, chatting and laughing with other customers who surprisingly all were speaking in French and he ignored us completely. Our beer glass had been empty for a while now and the other nice guy was busy with the other customers (it seems like he was the only one that was doing all the work) Oh well that made me feel a lil bit discriminated. Just because I don’t speak French so I don’t deserve the same respect as other customers.
Pardon for the rant but I think I should warn you who expect not only a good food and good Belgian beers but also good service. At the end I felt like I couldn’t be bothered to stay there after finishing our dinner. We went to a cocktail bar next door, got a nice dessert, great cocktails and super warm service...
Read moreI found this place because it had pretty good reviews, had some specific Belgian dishes we were looking to try, and was close by to where we were. We got there at around 12:30 on a Saturday and it was pretty filled already.
I ordered the C’est si Bon combo platter, which included a salad, stoemp (mashed potatoes), meatballs in tomato sauce, carbonnade (Flemish beef stew), and vol au vent (chicken in white sauce). It wasn’t bad. It’s probably not really for my taste buds because it’s so heavy but I’m glad it was a little bit of everything so I at least got to try it. I don’t think I could have finished a full size of any of these entrees alone. I liked the beef stew more than I thought I would because the beef tends to be dry, but it was pretty tender here. The vol au vent was creative because the dish normally inside a puff pastry but since this was a sample, they put a miniature pastry ring on top, which was cute and made it less heavy. Hubby had La Dinantaise (assorted duck plate with foie gras, smoked breast, gizzards, rillettes, terrine) served with a salad. I enjoyed the foie gras and duck breast but the rest was meh, but more of a texture thing for me.
Overall, the food was okay but if you’re looking for a variety of dishes to try, this would be a...
Read moreI recently dined at C’est Bon C’est Belge in Brussels, hoping for an authentic Belgian experience, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. While the restaurant has a charming name and a promising concept, the overall experience was underwhelming. The food was decidedly average—nothing terrible, but certainly not memorable. The quality of the ingredients seemed mediocre, and the flavors lacked the depth and authenticity I was expecting from a place that markets itself as a showcase of Belgian cuisine. Some dishes felt hastily prepared, as if catering more to quick tourist turnover rather than true culinary excellence. Speaking of tourists, the restaurant feels very much like a tourist trap. The prices are steep for what you get, and the atmosphere seems designed to attract visitors looking for a “local” experience rather than catering to those who genuinely appreciate Belgian food. Service was polite but impersonal, reinforcing the sense that this place prioritizes volume over quality. Overall, C’est Bon C’est Belge is not the worst option in Brussels, but it’s far from the best. If you’re looking for a truly great Belgian meal, you’d be better off exploring less touristy spots with a more...
