🌟🍽️ Hi and welcome to another digital nomad food review! Today, we find ourselves in the vibrant city of Brussels, Belgium, ready to indulge in some mouthwatering authentic Belgian cuisine. 🇧🇪✨

🌆 I stumbled upon this hidden gem after receiving a fantastic recommendation from a local salsa-dancing partner I met at the lively Cartagena Bar here in Brussels. With her enthusiastic endorsement, I couldn't wait to try the Carbonnade/stoofvlees, and boy, was I in for a treat! 😍🍻

🍽️ As I stepped into the restaurant, I was immediately captivated by its classic wooden interior, exuding a timeless charm of a cozy tavern. The place was buzzing with energy, but that's expected for a Saturday afternoon in this lively city! 😉

🍺🥤 I placed my order for the Carbonnade alongside a refreshing beer and a spritzy sprite. To my surprise, the food arrived at lightning speed, just ten minutes later! A feat that impressed me, considering my high standards for prompt service. ⏱️🚀

🍛 As the plate was placed in front of me, I marveled at the tantalizing sight before my eyes. Tender pieces of beef, lovingly marinated in a rich, savory brown sauce, accompanied by a delightful side of fresh salad. 😋🥗

🍖 With the first delectable bite, my taste buds were transported to a realm of pure bliss. The juicy, melt-in-your-mouth beef was an absolute revelation, and each subsequent bite was an even greater delight, as the flavors mingled harmoniously with the divine sauce. The chef's culinary prowess truly shone through on this plate! I must admit, I was tempted to lick the plate clean, but manners prevailed! 😅👨‍🍳

👨‍🍳 The attentive staff at this establishment were exceptional, and luckily, one of the team members spoke English, easing any language barriers. While the only slight hiccup was a small delay in receiving the bill, I completely understood given their bustling atmosphere. ⌛🙏

💰 In terms of cost, the Carbonnade plate was priced at 19 euros. Along with the beer, sprite, and a generous 5 euro tip, the total came out to 34 euros. A worthy investment for such a remarkable dining experience! 💵💫

💫 All in all, I wholeheartedly give this remarkable eatery a rating of 4.8 stars, but let's round that up to a perfect 5 stars to truly capture the outstanding experience. 🌟✨

🌍 Thank you for joining me on this gastronomic adventure, and make sure to follow me for more captivating food reviews from around the world! Until next time, bon appétit! 🍽️🌍

Terrible service. The waiter was rude—before we could even finish explaining our order, the menu was snatched out of our hands, and the waiter tried to walk away.

We came to Belgium as tourists, eager to get to know the culture and people of this country, but as soon as we walked into the first place here, we were met with negativity.

We don’t speak French, so we called the waiter over for help, knowing what we wanted to eat, but the waiter didn’t even want to listen to us properly. Before we could even ask a question, he cut us off, saying there was no menu in English… although I just wanted to ask if they had steak.

When we told the waiter we didn’t want to eat there and would like to leave, he simply told us to “Go!”

We are shocked by this kind of treatment and...

Well, the place is very nice and cozy, the menu is quite big and you have a great variety, from the traditional belgian plates, such as stoemp and mussels( à l'ail et provençale 💙) to more international cuisine. However, there is something missing. Maybe it's the service or the overpriced plates, not really sure what bothered me the most. Anyway, value for money is a miss. Also, it takes quite some time to get served and the tables are REAL close one another so go somewhere else if you are looking for a romantic, intimate dinner. I felt as if i should just finish my meal and go. To sum up, i would probably go back but it will be one of my last resorts, when in the...

Small classic belgian brasserie: beer and oven cooked food with cosy chalet style setting. However, quality has gone down and price have gone up in 2022. For example, a cheese burger is now €18.50 and though it is served with a helping of fries and salad it is nothing special and quite forgettable. I like the 4 person booths in the window and the vegi lasagna. Good seating for groups and parties on the 1st floor mezzanine (there are also decent toilets on this level but no disability access), so often busy at the weekend. Limited outdoor seating on the sunny side of the street. Come here if want something typical belgian, but only if you are in the area anyway.

It was empty when we arrived at 6:30pm and we got a table bench by the window. The table was dirty and covered with a layer of black dust which was a bit weird. Beers and bubbles were good. Service was a bit slow and absent considering we were the only table. They doubled our parmesan fondue order as they said it was hard to share which was so nice. It was pretty delicious. Mains were also good but it was expensive evening compared to other evenings with better experiences.
