First i would like to highlight i have never experience this before in my life (54) and that i rarely post negative review even when I am displeased as i don t bother take some time, yet last night i found my experience so appauling with my wife and friends that I take the time. First the welcoming in English was odd, w/o a bonsoir or goede avon but the setting was done…but most important please tell straight away what you dont serve (normal practice) in this case hot drinks … as at 23:00 13:00 degrees on the terrasse it is more likely your guests will want to !! Our experience was that after 15 mns waiting or so the waiter came in and whilst ordering infusion were were told these are not available … ok so we made compromise and changed swiftly for two beers out of 4 guests as the other two were not fond of cold at all. Off the waiter went for the order..: then 5 mns later or so the waitress that had welcomed us again in English told us we would need to order two orders more like water or so as we were 4. One can imagine the frustration… what kind of policy is this ? Shocking hence my review...
Read moreA cute courtyard and maybe it is better to stay with drinks only. The selection is wide. Otherwise I found it overpriced for what it was. The tacos for €9 each being the most ridiculous example. They are tiny. Really like a mini taco, and nothing special taste-wise. Also, surprising that the vegan version costs the same as the pork one. The beet and stracciatella salad was good, as was the Korean cauliflower. My fresh juice wasn’t great. Too sweet and too much ice; they clearly put ginger soda into it instead of fresh ginger advertised on the menu. My husband got the wrong beer (Hoegarden blanche instead of another white that he actually wanted and clearly ordered.) We paid over €50 for this small meal and two drinks and left hungry. It felt like the right price would have been around €30. The sever was clueless. We had to specifically ask for napkins, to have the dirty table wiped, and for some forks. He said the food is meant to be eaten by hand but - while that makes sense for tacos - it certainly doesn’t for the rest. One of the serving dishes was seriously chipped. I...
Read moreThe Jewel in the crown of Brussels Nightlife If you are looking for a party venue, a magnificent cocktail, a bite to eat, or a splendid beer in a transportative, historic courtyard - look no further. I had my 40th birthday in the Mezzanine of Vertigo in May, and myself and my guests had an amazing time. It all began with our liaison and event organiser Laura. Her professionalism, hard work, and friendly demeanour made everything work perfectly. She thought of everything. Her colleagues serving my guests and myself were also second-to-none with their friendly, attentive, patient, and efficient approach. We were not clients, we were guests who they were spoiling! The party food we had was exquisite (high-end cheese and meat charcuterie, delicious bread and humus). The bar service and drinks also top-notch with fantastic wines, beers, and bubbles. The space itself is incredibily interesting and visually striking making for a very fun venue. All in all Vertigo is the place to go. We delighted with our experience there, for start to...
