Pistolet Original — Restaurant in Brussels

The international tour continues and now ‘Swiss Note’ has decided to look for afternoon brunch. I would like a breakfast roll, bagel, baguette type…..fast breakfast with only one place on my mind here in Brussels, ‘Pistolet Original’. Now you all also know me as the ‘French Toast Connoisseur’ unfortunately I haven’t found that here yet but I’m sure it’s coming soon look out somewhere on this international review tour. ‘Pistolet Original’ nice team, confident workers that took my order and I could tell they knew I’d be more than happy. Beautifully cooked French-style scrabbled eggs (if you know, you know!) on top of a soft yet well toasted bun/roll with sausages perfectly cooked and another top bun to make a wonderful early afternoon brunch. Simple, compact and delicious food, that I returned for twice ordering the same thing on this trip. “The connoisseur knows what he likes.” and...

I spent 3 days in brussels on vacation in 2018. On the first day we discovered this beautiful little bistro/restaurant and we fell in love. It immediately became part of our daily routine to have breakfast here. Definitely try their french toast. It's life changing, to die for. We also had some of their Pistolet (Pistolet is a brussel variety of bread that has a crispy and hard crust with soft insides) sandwiches and it was equally as good.

If you like these small crispy buns (aka Pistolet), then you are in the right place. If you eat like a bird, one is enough... Regular eaters should take 2, or 1 and a side salad. Ordering is at the counter, one employee prepares cold pistolets, the other one hot ones. Nice little outside terrace, small inside (best to take out). Suggestions : make a dine in menu, when taking 2, make it a little bit cheaper. Increase the vegetarian and vegan offer. The future is plant based :) - get sponsored by a vegetarian meat...
