Le Vintage — Restaurant in Brussels

We came in at 2pm and were warned by the waitress that the food may arrive late. What we did not expect is that it would take over 75 minutes. When the waiting time reached an hour, the waiting staff reassured us that the food was ready and they will bring it in a minute. After 15 more minutes of waiting, with so many other guests in the restaurant, we gave up. The waiting staff as well as the chef were very nice to us and apologetic. Yet, it is difficult to cook for a restaurant of approx. 50 people if you're just a one-person-team - as the chef told us... The management should really prevent situations like this!

Response to the restaurant: We are two people so we might have different experiences. The chef told us he was alone in the kitchen, not with another person... It would be good to admit a mistake and not...

Le Vintage is an absolute gem. Just off the main drag and quieter and cheaper as a result. I had the trio of Brussels specialities; chicken vol- au - vent, beef stew (very tender) and meatballs, all served in separate pots, and all generous portions and delicious. My sister had the burger which was also generous and delicious. The real star of the show however is ANGELIKA, the waitress/manager, she's an absolute delight and so happy, generous, helpful and ready to please. I'm sure she is the real reason people keep coming back. Our bill for 2 came to €62, for 2 mains and three alcoholic drinks. This is about €20-€30 less than we've been paying for similar meals while in Brussels and Brugge. Do visit if you're in the area!...

Place is situated in a great area. Lots of people passing by so always active. I ordered a fish and chips and the friend with me orders the chicken bagel. The bagel was nice. And the fish and chips were just fish and fries. Very bland batter. Not the fish and the fries were soggy. The staff was definitely overworked. And hence the service was sloppy. There was no cutlery provided and when asked for it was just held in hands and dropped on the table. When went to pay in the machine was out of battery and had to wait before...
