We were so looking forward to the food here, but instead waited over an hour for our order without even being served our drinks. The waitress walked by many times without bothering to notice that we still had no food or drinks. When we finally got her attention and asked, at this point incredibly hungry and thirsty, she said she’d go check. We asked if she could at least bring us drinks when she cane back. She came back without any drinks only to tell us there was a “bug in the computer” so the order didn’t go through. She didn’t apologize, offer any solutions, just asked us if we still wanted to order. 😳 After us waiting for over an hour. Still incredibly hungry & knowing that it was now past 2pm so most other nearby restaurants would be closed for lunch, we said, “Ok, but can you please rush the order and at least bring us drinks?” She came back 10 minutes later, again without any drinks, to tell us they were out of one of the food items we ordered. Of course. They wouldn’t have been out over an hour before when we places the order, but ok fine. We changed the order. 15 minutes passed. No food. Nothing to drink. We were beyond hungry and tired of waiting. Instagrammable food means nothing if you never get it. 🙄 The worst part?! As we were leaving, I asked to talk to a manager. I told him our situation. Initially he was shocked and said he’d check what happened. He came back and told us he’d put the order in and would give it to us for free. We asked how long it would take because we were beyond hungry AND patched on this hot day. At that point he started getting angry at us! “I’m trying to be nice to you and give it to you for free.” 😳 I said, “Look, please do not get angry with US. We were sitting and waiting for over an hour, so we just want to know how long the food will take if you order it now. That’s great that you’re saying it’ll be free, but we just want to eat, not wait another 20 mins.” He started getting even more upset. Saying, “I wasn’t even there to see you waiting. Did you see me? But now I’m trying to help you by giving it to you for free, but I’m not getting any positive feedback from you.” He wanted positive feedback?!?! From customers who had waited for hungry and thirsty for over an hour?! Because he felt offering it for free with an attitude made it all better?! He was incredibly rude, never once actually apologized for the horrible service, and continued to act like he was doing us a huge favor by offering our nonexistent food for free. The manager’s and waitress’ attitudes were that our not being suddenly appeased at free food but asking when our food would come was the problem. We weren’t quickly giving them “positive feedback” by smiling and being grateful for their “generosity”. THE FOOD SHOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN THERE. Offering it for free was the very least they could have done. Not some huge generous act of kindness. 🙄 By far this was THE worst customer service any of us have ever experienced all having lived in Belgium for many years. We left, at 2:40pm, with the manager telling us, “Fine. I tried to help.” (Most other restaurants were closed by now, but we eventually found an amazing Lebanese restaurant with incredible food and fast and kind service.) Again, fancy photos mean nothing if the service is horrible and the food never shows up. Nobody has time for that.

ATROCIOUS! I don't even know where to begin with this awful place. I had the worst experience, not just in Brussels but in my life. After waiting over an hour to enter, despite being placed first in their digital queue and others going in earlier, we finally were seated after asking twice. Don't use a digital queue system if it does not work. Then we were placed on the top floor, which was empty! It was clearly a mistake to seat us there but how were we, as customers, to know. We had to go downstairs twice to request to order. Then we ordered. About 10 minutes later a waiter came to tell us that one of the orders had an issue. There were two similar orders and the staff could not work out which dish the issue was with- 4 staff members were needed to work it out. Then we were asked to move downstairs, being told that we had been seated in the wrong area- despite being placed there. We waited another 20-30 minutes for our food. When our food finally came it was awful. Every single dish had an issue with it. Some ingredients were missing, some were added. This is absolutely unacceptable! Some people have allergies and to change the menu like this goes against regulations. One member of the group's order had been cancelled by the kitchen. This particular person waited 40 minutes for their dish- 40 minutes after their friends had received and finished their food. This person was feeling very ill and shaking, since they had not eaten in hours. We asked to speak to the manager repeatedly but were told they were "too busy." We were just appalled. Finally when we left we spoke to one staff member who was so unbelievably dismissive of us and would not listen to us trying to explain you could severely hurt somebody by providing the wrong food items. Considering how expensive this place is you expect a certain standard. If you cannot cope with how busy a cafe can get on a Saturday- be better organised. More staff, fewer tables, reduced menu or something. Awful management overall. The manager basically dismissed us out of the cafe. She said "go enjoy Brussels I don't have time for this." Little does she know my group and I live here and we will be telling absolutely everybody we know to NEVER go there.

Unfortunately, I have to leave a negative review. We visited Crème brunch in Brussels with high hopes, but we decided not to stay because the outdoor tables were surrounded by garbage bags. The sight and smell were very off-putting, especially for a place that serves food. I hope the restaurant will take better care of the cleanliness around the seating area in the future, as this really discouraged us from trying their food. & for the answer of the owner : It’s quite interesting that instead of accepting customer feedback, you choose to take a defensive tone and shift the blame. I fully understand the strike wasn’t your fault, but as a customer, what matters is the overall experience and unfortunately, sitting surrounded by trash bags is simply not appealing. Interestingly, we visited other restaurants during the same period, and they somehow managed not to have this problem. Rather than attacking the review, maybe it’s worth considering how to better manage the restaurant’s image, even in difficult circumstances.

Being a big fan of Coco Donuts I was really looking forward to trying out Chloé's breakfast joint as I do love a good all day breakfast! I went on a Sunday. You all know how hectic Sunday brunch can be... That's why I timed my arrival after the rush. I ordered food and a drink. After waiting a while, I informed staff I was still waiting for my drink. When it was brought to me, I also informed them I'd ordered food and was assured it was probably on its way, just that the kitchen was downstairs to which I replied I just wanted to be sure. 30 minutes later and still no food so I asked again and was informed my order had never been registered.... Tables next to me also had issues with waiting for part of their orders to turn up. I got up to pay for the drink which they said was on the house given the circumstances and apologised. Mistakes happen and I'll be back and hope to be able to give a good review.

I have since returned to try the pancakes! I went for the seasonal fruit option which came with plenty of berries and delicious almond brittle, coffee and lemonade hit the spot too. It was a quiet weekday afternoon. I sat outside for a while but went unnoticed (it was pretty chilly and only one other person was sitting out) so I ordered at the counter. I will return again to try out a savory option next. Let's hope it's a third time lucky situation on the customer...
