Hello, based on the other reviews I can see that this restaurant will probably respond back denying everything. I am an avid traveller and I love promoting restaurants, cafes etc. I must say the other reviews share a lot in common for a reason. Firstly, the man behind the counter who looks like he owns it is the most rude person. He is hostile in behaviour and mannerism. Secondly, I have read other reviews and it is true that they do overcharge. I believe they do this to tourists or people who aren't French or arab speaking. He overcharged us by 5 euros. When we politely asked him he said the prices have gone up and said to what and even with those "price increases" his total was still inflated. There was no where to sit which was fine it happens so we ordered a takeout. He gave three pieces of lettuce with our take out and one slice of a tomato. The food was also average. It was very expensive for such tiny cubes of chicken. I do not recommend. As a restaurant you don't know who you are dealing with and I have now stopped a few other people from going there this week and I have shown them other lebanese and arab restaurants. To the owner of the restaurant, it is unethical to overcharge people but rest assured I am not worried.
Edit. As expected the manager responded and has completely missed the point... as expected. The food has tiny portions and He clearly has got me confused for someone else, very presumptious. At least he did not deny that he inflates his prices based on whatever he feels like at the time (read the other reviews and they say the same). If you read this review, I highly advise you not to go. I can tell you there are so many better and actually authentic lebanese restaurants in the area. You will be scammed out of money and then be told to go to burger king haha, brilliant. I now fancy a cheeky burger (at least they have a set price, are friendly and won't cheat you out of money and you will...
Read moreThis place is right by our house, but it took a while for us to try it. My husband and I always walk past it, commenting on it being busy and full, but never really gathered enough effort to try it.
Finally, we did, and I now see why it gets busy at night. As with most restaurants around the neighborhood, dinner may cost at least 60 euros. At Mount Lebanon though, you get a lot. They have a set menu, which we tried, and it didn't disappoint. A meze-style spread is served before a platter of grilled meats. The small plates are packed with flavor, pretty filling, and really awesome. One has to consciously stop eating to make room for the meat course.
The grilled meat also didn't disappoint. They are seasoned well, tender, and cooked right. Service was also good, as good as you can get in Brussels.
There's a small informal dining area adjacent to a more formal one with less fuss but the same small plates. Anyway, this restaurant is a good neighborhood joint. I wouldn't go out of the way to try it, but if you are in the area for business, for the Chatelain market, or if you just live here, it's a great stop. Just make sure you have worked an appetite...
Read moreOne of my few places "AVOID" I was an old client for more than 10y and today after more than 10y not having tried it again I came back with my Venezuelan family that lives in Spain proud giving the original Lebanase food taste from our country (we have many Lebanese immigrants in Venezuela) and falafel was tasteless, they run out of shawarma. I could accept this but the service was appalling. Rude and we simply felt undesired, like we are a burden to the place.
"La cerise sur le gateaux" not possible to order dessert/coffee, forced to pay as the kitchen closed (without telling us or genltly asking us are you going to have dessert before we close..etc) 1h before the announced time in Google.Map.. ("sorry kitchen is closed).
One of the best lebanese place that only is only a memory. So many other nicer places nearby even. 25y and not not even some refurbishment made.
AVOID...
