I usually don’t go out of my way to write negative review, but this is the worst Indian restaurant I’ve visited in Brussels so far. For everybody who’s looking for a good Indian food - don’t bother with this one. The service is seriously lacking. Apart from plenty of small things like no napkins, no glass for beer ordered, cutlery put loosely on one side of the table, we had to ask for appetizers (poppadoms usually served everywhere), and then for a chutney for it. I get that they might not serve it or forget, it happens, but at least when you’re asked once, you should do it properly. Food was pretty bad. Mix of starters costs 9.50 euro and consists of three bite-size pieces of grilled meats and one samosa. After we expressed our surprise over this, one tandoori wing was brought to our table. Speaking of tandoori meat, they used grilled pieces of chicken meat in the curries we ordered, which was especially bad in butter chicken - smoked flavour of grilled meat didn’t go well with creamy, sweet curry sauce. Not to mention the sauce itself was pretty bad as well. It doesn’t take much to make tasty butter chicken, and this was a total flop. We haven’t eaten it almost at all. Second chicken curry was actually quite tasty. Salad consisted of slices of tomatoes and wilted iceberg, that was all. Raita, I got the impression, was made from sweetened yoghurt, it was inedible. Bread (butter naan and parantha) was decent on the other hand. A thing that leaves probably the biggest bad taste is that even though they knew we were dissatisfied because I told them this, and left a big part of our food barely touched, they tried to force a cash payment out of us by pretending for a good long moment that they cannot find the terminal, in an obvious attempt to make additional buck. That was our impression that was only confirmed by some of the reviews pointing out that they don’t want to accept card payments. Of course, you can forget that they will offer you any kind of compensation for an untouche,...
Read moreI've been visiting the Annapurna on and off for the past 5 years or so. It has always been inconsistent in its quality/service, etc, but when it was good, it was very good, therefore worth persisting, but after last night's experience I'm sorry to say that this is the end, my friend. It was obviously under new (temporary) management once again, we could tell as they had forgotten to turn the lights on! A 10 minute wait for menues in a half empty restaurant didn't bode well. We should have read the signs. After finally taking our order, the person (I can't say waiter/waitress as this would be an insult to the profession) returned to ask what we had just ordered! Not going well, but we were hungry, and tired, and it was raining outside, so we stayed. After 45 minutes food finally arrived, but not what we ordered; The dishes were removed, no apology. We didn't seem to be alone as I observed various dishes arriving and being returned from other tables. After 1 hour and 15 minutes we left some cash to cover our drinks and left, never to return. Perhaps we were unlucky this time, but I wouldn't want to take the risk with another attempt. Farewell Annapurna, it's...
Read moreHad visited this place with my friends and we would not recommend it to anyone. We have had better food at cheaper prices from restaurants with much nicer staff.
The staff were quite arrogant and they didn't have a proper idea about the menu they offer. When we asked, "What fish do you have?", the response was, "Big fish!"
My friend had ordered a plate of new dish while we were eating. They said it will take them ten minutes. We waited for about 40 minutes and called the staff to ask about the dish. They said it's on the way. And then brought us the bill without mentioning the dish. We paid for the rest of the dish and got out.
We were quite dissapointed by their overall behaviour, the quality and quantity of food and the experience itself. The opinion about food is in comparison with other Indian restaurants across Europe we had been to, almost all of them were better in terms of quality, quantity and customer interaction.
We visited on 29 December 2018. There were 5 of us. We ordered two lamb biriyanis, two chicken biriyanis and a Menu. This is in response to the reply from the owner. I do not intend to "miss use"...
