Been wanting to try out this restaurant for some time. Finally had the opportunity to do so with some friends. First impressions is that it’s a high end restaurant. When entering the establishment, we saw mostly older people (50+) but as the evening carried on, there started to be a mix of “younger” diners. The restaurant is nicely decorated, nothing too chi-chi or ostentatious. The restaurant seems to be a busy place. It was a Friday evening, there was a large table of diners celebrating a birthday, and the rest of the tables were booked up. It was pretty busy. Services was ok, they were running around a lot. The way they served the sides to our table was a bit messed up. Someone got someone else’s side dish and vice versa. Apart from that, the food was very good. Our table was pretty happy with what was ordered. Poached cod, mousseline sauce, with season veg. Tuna tartare with fries. Pollack a l’Ostendaise (with small shrimps and moussels), with mousseline sauce and potatoes. 3 grilled solettes with tartar sauce, matchstick fries, with salad and endives. Last but not least, the dessert we all took was chocolate lava cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Overall, it was a nice experience and would recommend it to friends to try it out.

Being a seafood enthusiast, I could not resist exploring some of Brussels' renowned fish restaurants during my visit. Vismet caught my eye as it was conveniently located within walking distance from my hotel. The ambiance was casual, and the service was pleasant without being overly pretentious. The squids in a pepper sauce not only looked appetising but also tasted delicious. On the other hand, the swordfish with grilled green asparagus, zucchini, and potatoes turned out to be somewhat opposite. Surprisingly for a seafood restaurant, the grilled veggies outshone the fish. A house white wine, Domaine Les Salices Chardonnay 2023, was light, floral, and fruity with a refreshing finish. It was definitely a good choice.

This wonderful restaurant stole my heart from the very first visit. Firstly, they offer champagne by the glass, which is not something you will find everywhere, even in Brussels. The food is delicious, with options like croquettes, Dover sole, and oysters. The selection of fish dishes is really good, and the restaurant has daily recommendations. The terrace is a nice feature, especially during the summer. The waiters are friendly and attentive, and the service is quick. A glass of champagne was brought to me within a couple of minutes, which was impressive. I highly recommend Le Vismet for all fish and Champaign lovers.

OK, I...

This is an outrage. Strongly NOT recommended!!! The food is mediocre at its best, and the waitress tried to trick us with the price, assuming that we do not understand french (big surprise we do!! although that we are far more confortable with english). Briefly speaking, they brought us a "bill" (shame !!! A piece of paper with a few words on it resuming at best what we have ordered and a few "plus" - overprieced free starters (from the house as they stated at the begining). Sensing that we cought them fouling arround they said that there was a mistake adding by mistake a desert that we haven't ordered - there were in fact the free starters, no sweeties on the bill. The difference was important 15 € from 110 to 95!! for 2 persons. Pricey shity food not paying taxes sons of b....(sorry). PS: the french menu (also hand written barely readable on an A4 paper) is different from the english one and they are trying to fool you with it calling it the ...
