I always eat at this place whenever I am in Brussels. This time I was with my clients on a lunch which I hosted. But the lady server on duty was not attentive and was rude.
It started with a short argument when I asked to arrange a table upstairs as the Ground floor was almost occupied and we had to discuss business in a polite environment. She was not welcoming and asked why we need a table upstairs. I am the customer, it is my choice where to have the table not yours.
After arranging the table upstairs, she left us with the Menu and we had to get up from the table and call her again and again to come and take our order, on which she replied "2 minutes" raising her hand in the air without looking at us, which showed that she knew we were calling her. This looked awkward especially when you have your clients with you.
She then brought another group of people upstairs as the place was already on, but I noticed that the situation was more or less the same.
After the food was served, we again had to stand up and go to the edge of the stairs and call her multiple times again to take our order for the desserts. Come on! Who does that.
Once we were done with eating, we had to go through the same process again to ask her to bring the bill which she eventually responded with hand gestures and only two words "Downstairs"
I am giving 1 star only because of the services. Food is good, which is why I visit this place. But if there is any problem going on with your staff, please sort it out before letting them work with your customers. If somebody has emotional problems, they may keep it to themselves.
I could have responded to the lady server in the best deserved way since I had enough, but I did not do it. I did not want to create a drama and is against my moral values, but wanted to report this behavior to the management which will eventually help other future customers.
I am for sure never coming back again to this Steak place. It is not the food you sell but the services. We pay for what we eat, not getting it for free and this is not our ONLY option...
Read moreVery short experience at Steak N'Chill, I wish I could give it 0 stars. Firstly, when we walked in and asked very simple questions about the food, we were given attitude by our waitress which gave a poor first impression but we didn’t think much of it at the time. Secondly, we ordered our drinks, a Fanta for me; my wife initially wanted water but then changed her order to Coke Zero whilst the waitress was still at our table. When the waitress brought our drinks, we received a Coke Zero and a bottle of water. It is obvious what happened, a simple mistake, my Fanta was missing but the water we didn't want arrived. When we explained what had happened and where the confusion was (as politely as possible) the waitress interrupted me and said 'no, no, no, don't tell me what I said, I know what you ordered' quite loudly to me. This is before any food has even arrived to our table. After being given attitude at the beginning and then being spoken to like that after a very simple mistake which should have been resolved quickly with no fuss, I decided to get up and tell the waitress and manager that I am leaving because I know there's no chance of me enjoying my meal after that. I wasn't going to create a scene and I knew that this waitress was not going to listen to anything I said so it was best to just leave.
I get that mistakes happen, they happen all the time and I'm happy to let them go especially over something that can be easily resolved. But, when going out for a meal, I don't want to be spoken to like that, it's not the way anyone wants to be treated especially when you know you haven't done anything wrong and yet you are blamed for it.
Unfortunately, I can't review the food because we never stayed for it. But the service from that waitress was quite frankly, appalling and embarrassing. She should not be working in a restaurant if that is how she...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant on December 14 with a large group, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience.
It started with the beer selection. Although the menu only listed 'Bitburger,' I received my beer in a Duvel glass. When I asked to see the bottle, my request was denied. It quickly became clear that it was actually Duvel being served. This is misleading and amounts to brand fraud. Later, I ordered a Duvel directly, and I received it—but the price was outrageous: €6.50 for a Duvel! These are prices you'd expect on the Grand Place in Brussels, not at a regular restaurant.
The food tasted okay, but the portions were significantly smaller than advertised. The menu stated, for example, 300 grams of meat, but what arrived on the plate was at most half that amount. This felt very misleading.
Additionally, there were sauce packets on the table, and one labeled 'ketchup' was actually filled with mayonnaise. This is unhygienic and raises concerns about the restaurant's kitchen standards.
For the birthday guest in our group, I requested a small dessert, such as a single scoop of ice cream. However, this was not possible—we had to order a full dessert instead, which was then charged to us. This felt very customer-unfriendly.
To make matters worse, when we asked if they could turn up the heating, we were told that the restaurant didn’t have any heating at all.
Overall, it was clear that the restaurant cuts costs wherever possible, except for the prices. The quality and service simply do not match the high prices. We wouldn’t mind paying more for a great dining experience, but unfortunately, this was not...
