Café 't Kanon — Restaurant in Ghent

Loved it here! Great spot to chase the sun. Only leaving a review because I thought their food menu descriptions for what I ordered were a bit lacking in detail. The carpaccio comes with arugula (yum) and the stracciatella (broccolini) is over burrata, a very important item to omit IMO lol. Both benefitted from salt and pepper but were delicious (the broccolini is served cold and blanched, just FYI - I would have expected warm and softer). My all-time favorite bar in Ghent. The location and atmosphere are always on point here. The beer menu has some nice surprises, which is fun for both locals and visitors. Try out Lelijken Das or the great classic Geuze Oude Boon if you're visiting the town. Staff is really laid-back and very open to giving advice. We decided to have a quick drink before dinner and sat outside looking at the bridge. The cafe has the cutest view of the bridge, water and also beautiful old houses across.
