Café Folklore — Restaurant in Ghent

This is a place to visit! Is it especially beautiful? - No! Is it very stylish? - No! Is a place to see and to be seen? Definitely not the later! Cafe Folklore is potentially the last independent Volkscafe in Gent. You can get Jupiler and Stella from the tab. The owners are a lovely couple that have been in the trade for ages. The interior is unique and real. And when you are lucky they are just serving kroakemandels as a snack with your beer - a true and rate specialty from Gent. Sadly - these kind of places hardly exist anymore and will be gone in a couple of years. So enjoy it while it lasts and definitely pay Cafe Folklore a visit. P.s.: One day I visited together with my 6 year old son - Marina - the owner - just had her lunch - she shared her fries with my son! That‘s nothing you will ever experience in any vegan hipster instragram...

Un lugar único y especial en Gante. Aquí te sentirás como en casa. Hay un ambiente muy familiar. Además hay una máquina de discos muy peculiar, 1€ 6 canciones, que te trasladan a esa época en la que todas las canciones son conocidas. No hay chumba chumba ni nada parecido, pero todo el mundo se sentirá en esa época en la que todo era de verdad. Pide uuflake, y droge worst y disfruta de ese momento en el que un pan con algo y una longaniza de pascua te dan la felicidad. Además el "caviar" que aquí te ponen gratis como si fueran cacahuetes en España te hará pensar “¿ qué es esto? " no sé qué es, pero está bueno. Si eres auténtico, este es un sitio que deberías conocer, si no, pasa de largo y ve más allá, sé solamente un turista...

The accent is very Gentse...the welcome...
