The personnel is super friendly and helpful. For the food, it might be all freshly made (as they claim), but the taste unfortunately have room for improvement... The gyouza, which normally should be pan fried and come with a nice little crust, we're in fact steamed dumplings with a pretty different taste from anything I've tasted in Japan (a bit faded). The tantan ramen is supposed to be a taste and spiciness bomb, but the soup was actually a bit fade, even compared to regular shoyu ramen. The minced meat in the ramen is just plain minced meat without any taste additions (supposed to come with a little lit of spices), and the noodles a bit overcooked (not chewy).

If you expect authentic Japanese food, you will be disappointed. If you don't, and enjoy softer tastes, you might like it. In my opinion, there are some really nice alternatives in Ghent (Zuru Zuru and Umamido being the best, more authentic ones).

So I think I would give it 3 stars (not bad, but not especially good either; and certainly not memorable), but the friendliness of the people got it up to 4...

It's been several months (years?) since my partner turned to me and said: "hey look, there's a noodlebar here, we should go in sometime". To cut this story very short: we went in and it feels like we never left. The food is delicious, the noodles are homemade, the interior is cosy and you get to sit at the counter if that's something you like (which we do), the two people who run the place are simply the best! Always friendly and inviting, they know a lot about Japan and they tell their stories so interestingly. Just wonderful and kind people. After all this time we find it our honour that we can call them our friends. Do not hesitate! Just go in and you'll...

Very happy we stumbled upon this place for an early dinner. Interior felt very authentic and the place is chaotically (and beautifully) small. The service is great and the food even better.

I do appreciate a ramen place that put love into their noodles. It’s such a vital, but often a little overlooked, part. These noodles had a good bite to them and the serving generous. Big plus for that.

Menu small, but solid. Just what you need and a few dishes made with what seemed to be great ingredients. Topping is simple, but good.

Thanks for a great lunch! Can...

I have to say that I really like this place. It's very cosy and nicely dressed up. I was a little suprised by how small it was, so it can't host many people at the same time. We were with 3 people and each ordered another type of ramen, as well as the normal and vegan gyoza. And everything was delicious! The ramen was a pretty big portion and I wasn't able to finish it, but I ate about 80-90% of it. The only minus point about my experience was the chairs, which were a little uncomfortable to sit on for a long amount of time, as they were just small wooden stools.
