I’d given myself the task of finding the perfect place to get waffles over the weekend, and no doubt, this is is. I can’t imagine waffles getting better than they usually are, but they’re so perfectly crisp and light on the sweetness at In Choc. The homemade chocolate syrup also tasted like real chocolate , which just made everything just perfect. The fruity tea was a nice pair with the waffles. Update: went back on Monday (when it’s supposed to be closed, according to google) but it was open for takeaway through their window shop, and just got waffles. I got the waffles with strawberries, whipped cream and chocolate. It wasn’t as crispy as the one in the restaurant but still really good none the less. And considering what I ordered, it really isn’t a sugar shock at all, which I appreciate.

Just outside the entrance of Gravensteen after an hour tour, my husband and I picked this little cafe for an afternoon coffee. We were attracted by its cosy, relaxed look. We shared a slice of a fresh lemon meringue pie and a piece of heavenly chocolate cake, and we were very happy with our choices. It's the right adress to indulge yourself with belgian chocolate. The chocolate ganache is thick like a piece of a divine belgian chocolate bar. I normally didn't like the usually artificial-lemony taste of pie, but I ended up devouring his pie too :-) since it's homemade lemon tasted so good and fresh. We had a good time and even chatted with the friendly owner of the Cafe. We'll definitely come again when we visit Gent!

Saw a very good review for this cafe, and mentioned in almost all blog recommending the best place to eat waffle in Belgium. Located in a very beautiful spot in the city of Gent, just infront of a castle. We were lucky enough to get a table in front because this cafe never gets quiet. We ordered their hot chocolate and waffles. Their waffles were really really good, especially with the hot cherry jam!! Hot chocolate was just okay, because they ran out of their choc in choc hot chocolate, which i think is their favorite hot chocolate menu. But, it is highly recommended to eat and drink here while you are in Ghent. Beautiful place and delicious waffle.

Food was lovely although sadly the staff team (and presumably owner) needs customer service training.

My husband booked a table for two. On arrival he was asked repeatedly if he ordered through social deal. It became very awkward as my husband almost had to prove he had a reservation.

We felt very judged by the woman and this is certainly not how you should make your customers feel - especially when working in a tourism hotshot. Note: of course nothing wrong with social deal but how we were approached felt a bit strange.

I do give credit to the fact the woman realised the mistake and was very apologetic but of course it tainted the meal.

I do hope they recognise these kind of incidents as a training need.

It's got lots of potential for a busy little business - don't let negative...
