For a person who has an absolute Chinese stomach, I feel so surprised and lucky that I tried the food here. Although I just ordered a shrimp kroketje, not expecting too much, it came with a full plate of attention and creativity.
The plate includes 2 big pieces of nicely fried kroketjes with caviar, 2 different salads with unique dressings and a sauce. The bread crumbs of the kroketjes have a special taste to it, perfectly fried, not greasy at all. Flavour of the filling is also right on point. I will say it’s tasty and not ordinary.
This also apply to the two salads. Small portion, but with such a special creativity added to it. One of them (if I guess correct) is thin sliced apple or sth like papaya-ish vegetable with fennel flavour, very mild but completely blended together with the ingredients. Another one is beetroots, simple sweet/sour flavour but perfectly balance with the shrimp kroketje.
I have to go back again for more tasting from the menu and choose from the counter.
Oh, plus, the presentation is professional and entertaining! It eliminates the whole visual experience.
I think it worth paying a visit (if you are not nearby), if you trust a Chinese stomach recommending Belgian food, haha.
Anyway, good...
