Shazanna — Restaurant in Ghent

I gave it 2 stars because the pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauce for 1 of the two dishes (lamb ragu) was delicious.

That said, the carbonara was almost a soup and the service was bad (or rather non-existing). There were about 4 (or 5 perhaps) tables in total (of which only 3 occupied) and 3 people working there: the chef, the bartender and a lady who gave us a bloc-note to write our order on ourselves. We even had to get our drinks ánd our food ourselves. It was literally 5 meter from the pickup point (a table behind the door) to our table. Oh, and they forgot one of our 3 drinks, too.

If you decide to order, do a takeaway, because you don't have to do it for the lovely service ... and it's cheaper, too. I am sure the chef has some good qualities and knows...

Good food, terrible treatment. We ordered 2 pizzas that were 3 euros more expensive than the menu that was hanging at the window. Maybe a takeaway menu, sure, but still misleading. The pizzas were good, but one should have had cherry tomatoes and it had ordinary ones. That aside, I was shocked to find out they charged 4 euros service costs. Which were nowhere advertised. The service is friendly and the pizza is good. Came here to do take away during corona and the take away price is great!! So price quality it was definitely a win. I was a little disappointed though because the pizza on all the pictures has this really fluffy, soft Napolitana style pizza crust.
