The food is delicious but the prices don’t make sense compared to the portion size.
Mezze is supposed to be small, that’s normal. What isn’t normal is how a mezze dip such as hummus (€9.50) costs the same as cheesefingers (€9.50). Hummus is a well portioned size, the price is still way too high and you only get 2 cheesefingers for €9.50. Makes zero sense.
Flatbread prices… €4.50 for one piece of flatbread with a “topping”. (They are literally just spices which is like what €0.30 cents to sprinkle on?)
You can order a mezze table but the flatbreads aren’t included which is just unbelievable. At least include one flatbread and charge if the table wants more.
We had falafel too and those were delicious plus they added green olives around it and I loved those.
Muhammara was too nutty for us but perhaps thats the way how it’s supposed to be. The hummus slapped.
The waitress was super friendly and gave us a pleasant first experience in the restaurant.
Despite of my somewhat negative review, the place serves really delicious food and we will return at some point. The major negative point is that the prices make no sense. We don’t see how a lot of the dishes justify having a...
Read moreIn one word: tourist trap. This is why: we waited 1h30 to get our food. When it was 1h waiting, we asked the waitress why the food was so delayed and she was so rude that I was shocked. I totally get that there were other people also waiting (even though the restaurant wasn't full), but there are other better (and more polite) ways to manage it: say sorry, bring the starters, give a discount, manage the load at the kitchen and above all, don't scream at the customers. Also, if we knew that it would take so long to even get the cold starters (a simple salad!!), then tell in advance, so we wouldn't waste our time. When finally the food arrived, it was a bit cold and okayish. All in all, a sad day to be...
Read moreFriendly service great atmosphere but it's not 100% authentically Lebanese. Their kafta and hummus are very close to the ones you'd taste in Lebanon. Their kibbeh is okay, arak (Lebanese pastis) is okay. Fattoush is very bad and is very far away from the real fattoush. Their rice pudding is neither Syrian, Lebanese nor Levantine (maybe it's a very Belgian twist on what should be 'riz bi halib' (rice in milk)). Recommended, but for a true Lebanese experience be careful about what you order. There is a big room for improving the menu, but given you're in Gent I'd recommend it not for the food, but for the service...
