Sushioui " The Kitchen" — Restaurant in Ixelles - Elsene

I love sushi and to find one with good quality in Brussels it’s really difficult. Having checked the ratings for this place, I definitely wanted to try.

Unfortunately and unexpectedly, I have to say this was one of the worst sushis I have tried in Brussels and probably in my life.

The service was terrible and disrespectful. I ordered online and the estimated time was 10 minutes. I arrived to collect my order after 15 min and when I got there, the employee told me that it would take 10 minutes more. After 10 min, I came back but the order was not ready. I ended up waiting 30 min more, without any apologies.

For the food, honestly bad quality fish (as you can have an idea from the photos) and, even more serious, even though I emphasised an allergy to cucumber, the order came with cucumber.

Besides that, the atmosphere at the restaurant was not horrible, but I guess that might be more related to its excellent location (chatelain).

To sum up, I really don’t get the ratings and would never recommend this place to...

If you’re a fan of sushi and Japanese food, don’t leave Brussels without visiting this gem! 😍 It’s just a 3-minute walk from our hotel, and we couldn’t be happier to have found it.

The chicken karaage poke bowl was juicy, flavorful, and came in a generous portion. We also enjoyed the crispy salmon roll and salmon sashimi—both absolutely delightful.

The service was outstanding. The staff were warm, friendly, and incredibly polite. To top it off, they even treated us to a complimentary spicy salmon nigiri with teriyaki sauce—such a thoughtful touch! 💗

Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Japanese flavors in Brussels....

One of the best sushi experiences I’ve ever had — and believe me, I’ve had sushi in many European cities! The staff and the owner were genuinely kind, friendly, and welcoming. I asked for extra wasabi, and they gave us so much that we were honestly shocked — and it was really good quality wasabi too; it literally brought tears to our eyes (which, to me, is always a great sign 🤣). The quality, flavor, and service were all top-notch — definitely five stars. It’s a small, cozy, and minimalist place with a nice outdoor seating area — perfect for a fun sushi night with good friends. I’ll definitely go back there every time I...
