Having always enjoyed the design and feeling of Odette en Ville, I called to check whether they were open in the morning as I had a large business meeting and thought it would be a great space. I was told it would be open and that no reservations were required. It was one of the worst experiences I have had. When I arrived I was told that they would have a film crew in the library and that no doors, coffee or tea machines, and toilets could be used. If we wanted to we could sit in the back and leave through the kitchen door when they started filming at 11.00 am. I then had a young chap by the name of Luca who came right at me in front of my potential business partners insulting me and insinuating that I was creating stories and no one was even allowed into the hotel. He kept insulting me and then walked off. When I asked for the manager he shouted back that he was the manager! It really is a shame about such behaviour and incompetence as the setting is beautiful. Unfortunately, my VIP clients and myself will make sure to spread the word that this is a "No Go Area". Time will tell how long the hotel...

Lots of good eateries around (Dam Sum, Bao Bao, Manhattens Burgers, Sushi Shop) and one of Brussels best coffee places just around the corner (Belga and Co.). On top of that the neighbourhood also hosts a classical Belgian Dive bar - Supra Bailly - which has brown walls, a large selection of beers and an eclectic clientele. ||Odette en ville has a lovely and plush decor, and our room was spacious and had a great feel to it.||The drawbacks of the hotel are the following: 1) service is not the best - the door man is hardly ever there to help, so you have to get in through the double doors with your luggage. I arrived on my own and with a kid, so my entry was difficult and clumsy. 2) there is no room service, at all. Do I need to say more? 3) the music in the restaurant is extremely loud. This was not to our taste, and we were looking forward to enjoying a meal in the restaurant (which is rumoured to be excellent), while our kid was sound...
