Kosmopol — Restaurant in Leuven

Last Friday, my mother and I went to Kosmopol for early lunch (about 11:00 AM when we took some order). The main waitress who served as was ok, she didn't smile nor greeted. But I saw her giving today's menu and suggestions to other customers when she didn't do it to us (I did spoke in Dutch though). We weren't bother by it since their dishes were good but our dishes were served a lot later (2 tables who ordered their meal after us got their dishes way before us).

Of course, this can be due to difference in what they've ordered. If I am not mistaken other guests had ordered breakfast set (scramble eggs, ham, cheese and bread) when we had wok and pasta. I just gave this as a remark since we got our dishes at 11:48 (without appetizer) and I might be too critic since I used to work as a waitress for about 8 years to give this remarks and it might be not appropriate. However I am just sharing my experience and I can see that majority of people had a great experience which is a good thing and something to look forward to when I go visit the restaurant again.

Not to mention other waiter who brought our dishes to our tables was friendly and attentive (asking if we needed bread because I almost did forget about bread which came together with pasta).

For those who are curious about the price range of this restaurant then it would be $$-$$$...

An enroute stop for lunch, decided to head into Leuven and came across a group of restaurants just opposite the station and chose to eat here. We hadn't booked but there were tables available at lunchtime on a very sunny Sunday.

Stopped here on motorcycle and parked up by the bicycles, if we were in a car it seems there is underground parking adjacent the station, and possibly on street in roads a short walk away.

The service was good, and the staff attentive.

The food came in good time and was well presented and tasty.

Dropped in twice while staying at a hotel near the train station. First time I was pretty jet lagged and just ordered the vol-au-vent - which was good, but I missed the front of the menu with the seasonal specials. The next time I just wanted a light dinner and ordered the asparagus risotto- that was really good. Just a nice comfortable spot for a beer or wine and a quick bite - many of the others in the restaurant were ordering various steaks which the looked to be...
