Il Pellicano Cucina Italiana — Restaurant in South Caye Caulker

This was truly one of the most unfortunate experiences I’ve had to date and it breaks my heart to have to leave such a review. We arrived at 6:45 and were seated, I have photos for proof of time stamps. We had our order taken and placed 10 minutes later at 6:55. Around 10 minutes later (7:05) our appetizer came out which consisted of the smallest portions— 3 olives, one piece of small bread, two strips of salami and 2 strips of prosciutto for $15US. We didn’t think much of it and tried to give benefit of the doubt. An hour passed, 8:05pm at this point, so we decided to speak to our waiter. We informed our waiter we’ve been waiting over an hour now since we’ve placed our order, and that we were wondering when it was going to come out. The waiter snapped back with “I’ll check, but it hasn’t been an hour” when it has in fact been more than an hour at that point and we have pictures of time stamps to prove it. Shortly after, he arrived apologizing for his mistake and for the long wait and insisted our food was meant to arrive soon. We watched 3 other tables finish their meals and clear their tables before my partner even got his meal. At 8:15 my partners meal finally arrived, but they informed us that they were still waiting on my meal (a pesto linguine) and that I’d have to wait a bit longer. I had to sit there and watch my partner eat his meal because we didn’t know how much longer I’d have to wait, and we didn’t want his meal to get cold. At 8:25 my food finally showed up, and it was the most underwhelming meal— especially after waiting one hour and and 30+ minutes for our food. They were unapologetic, did not offer a discount, a desert, or anything on the house. This is the most dissatisfied and disappointed I have been at any restaurant. I understand going slow, but this was completely unacceptable. I would also understand if the restaurant was busy, but we were watching the tables around us eat their food and clear their tables long before our first dish even came out. This was so utterly disappointing and the lack of customer service or remorse just worsened...

I hate leaving bad reviews but my experience here was absolutely terrible. We sat down everything looked nice, ordered some food, and that’s where it all went down hill. We kept seeing every single person around us get food, even people that sat down and ordered after we did and we didn’t see anything until 1 hour and 10 minutes after we ordered. Not only did it take so long to get ONE plate, my girlfriends food didn’t come until 10 minutes after mine so I couldn’t even eat my food with her without mine getting cold. I would like to say that’s the end but it’s not. Our food wasn’t even cooked!!! Half of my pasta was still raw and my girlfriends pasta could have stayed boiling for at least 5 more minutes!! They didn’t check in on us once after we ordered, I had to get the attention of the waiter to ask how much longer it will take after an hour of waiting and he scofflaws back at me muttering it hasn’t even been an hour even though I have time stamps on my phone. Didn’t even give us any type of discount or anything after this terrible experience. I hope none of you get the experience we did as this has been the worst experience I have ever had at...

What a scam ! Overpriced for the bad quality you get. Unpleasant and cold staff. I asked to book a table for 2 : « we don’t take reservations for 2 ». I asked for their wifi to warn my friend : « we don’t give wifi, only for the system ». I had the vegetarian pizza without cheese, I asked if it was possible to get something else in exchange like mushrooms : « we don’t substitute ». Then when they brought the pizza I laughed so hard, just look at my picture, there are like 50 grams of vegetables on it (I asked without onion), this is over 17US$. Then I tried it and it was so spicy, my friend also tried it and found it very spicy. I had to wait for more than 10 minutes for a manager to come see me, after 2 waitresses who told me : « that’s all the vegetables you get it’s expensive here » and « you should have said not spicy » (it’s not written on the menu) and also « we don’t put spicy on our pizza » !!! They said they could make another dish but my friend was already done with her 20US$ small pesto pasta, which were not great, so we just left.
