Tapper's Dive Bar — Restaurant in South Caye Caulker

Unexpected awesomeness! After a week of eating lots of delicious seafood on Caye Caulker, we stopped in for what we thought would be pub grub and I ended up having one of the best meals of my vacation. The tacos al pastor (with Mexican corn as a side dish) were simply amazing, and the Greek salad was fresh with dressing on the side. The shoestring onion rings were just sinful... My husband’s beer was good and cold, and my mojito was terrific. There was hockey on several screens so the ambiance was definitely sports bar, but that’s as advertised....

Very over priced. Food taste was okay but portions and prices were outrageous. Beer is $7 vs $5 anywhere else on the island. We paid $30 a plate for a very small pork chop and potato. After we had “dinner” here we went to a different spot for a burger to actually feel full. We tried almost all restaurants on the island and this was by far my least favourite. We were also told after we ate and got our bill that they wanted cash and told us to Go the bank which if we knew before hand we would of not stayed. Definitely do not recommend this...

Highly recommend this bar. I went in just for a drink (because I don't usually eat bar food) and ended up ordering the belizean fried chicken special. It was some of the best fried chicken. The special came with 2 sides and a drink for 12 bze. Also, the service was amazing. The bartender/ server was really friendly. I will be back before I leave...
