I was on a solo trip to Sarajevo in March 2017 traveling on a student budget. I was looking for unique places but still something in my budget. I had passed signs for it near the Yellow Bastion on my first day, but decided to visit on the second day.
I ordered a traditional Bosnian coffee and a slice of vanilla cake. Both were delicious and definitely homemade. The Bosnian coffee is unfiltered coffee heated and simmered in an iron kettle, so it's very strong—but if you like strong coffee, then you'll definitely love this. The vanilla cake I had was delicious and sweet, but not over-the-top rich. I was definitely satisfied with my order and the service was very friendly (although I didn't interact much with the wait staff).
To be clear, though: this cafe is listed as a restaurant in some travel apps, but it's definitely not a place to go for any real food. They only have a few snacks or smaller dishes, like cake. If you're looking for a full meal, then you will want to look elsewhere.
Overall, this place had great coffee, which was made all the more better by the spectacular view. It's not far from the Yellow Bastion, which overlooks all of Sarajevo. You'll find a very similar view here, except you can sip on your coffee and take it all in from the comfort of a cafe. If you're going to get coffee anywhere in Sarajevo, I almost think you have to come here just to enjoy the incredible view.
Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a unique...

Read moreUnfortunately we were not able to try anything on the menu. We waited around 30 minutes for our order and nothing came. While we waited there were two unattended young girls throwing trash and glass bottles off the balcony which just made me sad. The volume of the girls “playing” and the music combined made waiting for our order not worth it. The view was indeed spectacular but you could get the same view from the yellow fortress without the noise. I’m sure it’s a lovely experience for anyone who has time to wait and doesn’t mind loud...
