Buregdžinica Bosna is an absolute must-visit for anyone seeking the ultimate burek experience! My recent visit was nothing short of a culinary revelation, and I can confidently say this place deserves every accolade it receives. We indulged in the Burek Meso, and from the very first bite, we were transported to burek heaven. The pastry was perfectly flaky and golden brown, shattering delicately to reveal a succulent and richly flavored meat filling. It was an exquisite balance of textures and tastes, a true masterpiece of Balkan cuisine. After savoring every last morsel, we were so impressed that we did a little research and discovered that Lonely Planet hails Buregdžinica Bosna as serving the "best burek in the world." Having now experienced it firsthand, I wholeheartedly concur! As an expatriate living in the Balkans, I consider myself a seasoned burek connoisseur. I've sampled countless variations across the region, from bustling city centers to hidden local gems, and Buregdžinica Bosna's Burek Meso stands head and shoulders above them all. The quality of the ingredients is evident, and the passion and expertise poured into each burek are palpable. Beyond the exceptional food, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, reflecting the genuine hospitality of the Balkans. This is not just a meal; it's an authentic cultural experience. If you are in search of the definitive burek, look no further than Buregdžinica Bosna. Prepare to be amazed – this is truly the best burek I have ever had the pleasure of tasting, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Five stars simply...
Read moreEdit (2 years later): Unfortunately, our recent visit was very disappointing. We ordered spinach and potato pastries, one with yogurt. However, the waitress brought a meat one by mistake. When we pointed it out, she seemed upset, took it back, and then almost threw the correct plate on our table. My husband explained that this behavior was unacceptable, but the waitress insisted that we had ordered one with meat. I clarified that we never eat burek with meat, and she rudely replied, “Are you his lawyer?” This was by far the rudest service we have ever experienced. Everyone can have a bad day, but being openly disrespectful to customers is not acceptable. So I don’t have any new commemt on taste since it doesn’t matter when people are rude and angry.
Old review: They have tasty pastry with 5 different fillings. We tried all, they were fresh and delicious. I would suggest you try turkish...
Read more✅ POSITIVE -The taste of the börek is nice, especially the cheese and meat options were flavorful. -Price for a portion + ayran was 9 KM, which is reasonable for Bosnia. -Location is right in the heart of Baščaršija, very easy to reach.
⚠️ NEGATIVE
*Not the best börek I’ve had; there are better alternatives in Sarajevo. *Very small interior (about 10 m² with only 3 tables), so you end up sitting very close to others. *When it gets crowded, staff tend to rush customers, which can feel uncomfortable. *Ayran from the fridge was actually warmer than ayran sold outside. On a hot summer day, this was not pleasant. The bottle was swollen, possibly spoiled (I didn’t check at that moment). *I arrived with my luggage before opening and exchanged money to come here, but they put my suitcases outside, which didn’t feel welcoming. *No halal certificate, so be...
