SOVA Natural — Restaurant in Região Geográfica Imediata do Rio de Janeiro

Hello Sova team! My wife and I had a late lunch here and really enjoyed it. After reading the review before us I thought I would address that customer as wrong 100%. We had the identical situation and a perfect experience. Let us share!

My wife and I happened to be looking for food and she wanted to stop here. The location is wheelchair accessible into the store and into the bathroom. YAY! Thank you! The staff is incredibly helpful. We had no idea what we wanted and if we were staying or taking out. Once we decided we placed the order and decided to stay. They accommodated us, turned on the heating unit outside. Brought our food to us, checked on us, and three staff spoke english near perfect (not that we needed it!). The experience was wonderful, and no outlandish charges, I just checked my credit card.

Now for the best part, the food! My wife was looking for something different and we didn't expect this place would have it. SURPRISE! Their sandwiches and Tortano was excellent. Great ingredients, well made. For anyone new to tortano like me, its like a Stromboli but much better. The bread is flakey, cheese excellent. My wife and I shared a cappuccino as well.

Please do not let one bad review stop you from visiting SOVA. I do not know anyone that works there, runs the company, and I am not from Brazil. Just enjoying my time passing through.

Lastly the value was good. I would never have had anything like this in the US for this cost....

We decided to come here because it looks really nice and the food looked great. This is where it goes down hill. We ordered sandwiches on the menu which sounded really nice and tasty and we were very hungry. They looked quite simple to make, we was waiting over a hour for them to come we asked 20 minutes before where they were and the workers looked angry and said they will be 15 minutes so we wait another 20 minutes for them to be serving new customers and no signs of them even making it so we ended up leaving because we had plans for the day and we thought to have a quick sandwich. They also said we couldn't sit inside. And a even more outrageous thing is we asked for the bill for our coffees as we was fed up of waiting and they tried charging us for the food we never had, then they come back to sort it out then try charge for double the drinks we had. My friend has visited this coffee shop nearly every day on our holiday… so today I decided to join her as it was a rainy day in Rio! I was overwhelmed with delight at the food and coffee… we had ham & cheese sourdough baguette with a side of scrambled eggs from the breakfast menu which we washed down with a beautiful cappuccino! Every bite was sensational. The ham was extremely good quality and reminded of me lovely flavours from back home in London. On the visit to the bathroom (which was stunning) I caught a glimpse of the staff making the bread by hand out the back of the shop… wonderful to see! There were so many delicious looking treats as it is Easter weekend. All of the staff were very attentive and the owner came over to us for a chat about their pasta sauce and it’s very wholesome ingredients which we purchased for lunch.
