We really enjoyed our time at this restaurant near post 4/5 in copacabana. We probably would not have ventured off to this street if our hotel had not recommended it to us but we are so glad we did ! Our server Juan Pedro was stoic but wonderful ! No detail was left un touched ! He was highly attentive and polite and happy to help us navigate our terrible attempts at Portuguese. We recieved 5 star service and enjoyed delicious food and atmosphere. We also recieved complimentary caiparhinias because we were staying at a near by hotel (Rio Othon palace) my personal favorite thing we ordered was a hot shrimp cheese appetizer and asparagus soup. I will say I wish there was more evidence of asparagus though. Portions here are humongous!! We ordered the bbq for 2 platter and it was huge !!! We couldn’t even come close to finishing it so we wrapped it up and gave it to some homeless people we met on the walk home. Classic Copacabana seafood restaurant a block back from the beach. Like many older restaurants in the area, it's a little rough around the edges to American and European eyes - rest rooms, while clean, are a throwback to the 50s and 60s. But, look past the superficial, and the service and the food more than make up for it. For four people, we had grilled flounder (linguado) and whiting (pargo) for two. Both were excellent. Outstanding seafood! We came here to European dinner time (6pm) on a Monday. We directly good seated and could order the first drinks. The Menu is huge. We decided to stay with a lot of little appetisers to get a little overview about the different seafoods. We had crab, shrimp, squid, cod fish, and some vegetables on the side. Everything was outstanding. My personal favourite were the fried crab claws - absolutely stunning. The food was super fresh and came fast. I guess this was due to the empty restaurant.
