We went twice to this izakaya (bbq & drinks) as the food was great and suitable for our diabetic dad (bit salty for our tastes, but you can ask them to amend the ingredients). The black tonkotsu is quite tasty from this unassuming place, it's in direct competition with another izakaya across the road, but has a slightly different menu, and at somewhat cheaper prices.
It may be due to a language barrier or maybe they don't remember us, but I thought we would've received a warmer greeting from them as we went two consecutive nights. 😅 On the second night though it took close to 20-30 minutes to get our chicken karage, sting ray fins. But everything else had been relatively speedy. Their receipt machine needed an ink replacement as we couldn't view what was on the docket, on both nights, and had to view the items on their computer screen which was quite damaged and scratched unfortunately. But they let us view the receipt happily.
They don't charge a surcharge or card fee and accepted our foreign cards.
The service staff were quite friendly, helpful, but at certain times it was difficult to get their attention due to the noise and business of the restaurant, but we didn't wait too long as the owner, (I think he was the owner), was trying his best to be attentive.
Beware that the izakaya's here permit smoking 🚬, though I didn't experience smokers at ninja, but had the occasional vaper here and there. It's also a bar environment so it'll sometimes be noisy.
I wished the restaurant was better kept, cleaner and had more attention to detail and design. Something the other izakaya across the road had, but was smaller and cramped.
My favourites at this izakaya were: 🍗 Chicken wings. BBQ skewers. Black tonkotsu ramen. Garlic butter edamame. Sashimi. Agedashi tofu. Beef in ponzu sauce (mostly...

I came to the restaurant for dinner at 10pm. I ordered ramen soup with the addition of pork and one egg. During the meal, I noticed that the pork was a little cold, as was the egg. After dinner, I went to bed and woke up after 4 hours with severe diarrhea and stomach pains. As a former chef who worked in a Michelin restaurant, I think that's where I got infected. Normally, I do sports and my metabolism is faster, so thank God I quickly found a pharmacy and took pills. Unfortunately, the day after I went with siemp reap and somehow I survived the trip. It's now 3 days since I got food poisoning and I'm still taking pills and having diarrhea.
Below my article is a picture that proves that I ate here and...
Read moreWould not come again! Restaurant was not even half full but we still waited over an hour for one of the main courses. First starter - Dried sguid stir fried - came in about 25 min after we ordered it (why so late?!), While second appetizer - qyoza - didn't come.., we waited about 40 min for ramen (was very good though). Gyoza that was supposed to come with the squid came after the main course after around 55 min, and second main course - panfried noodle with starchy sauce - came after more than hour of waiting and it was definitely not worth the wait!! Very disappointed with this place. Do...
