I had heard this restaurant had opened its doors and I was curious to try it out.
I went there for lunch today, together with a friend, and we were both very pleasantly surprised.
The restaurant is tucked away in Street 278, I nearly walked by it :) When you walk in, it feels very modern and clean, but also very cosy. I really liked it. There is an outside patio and inside area on the ground floor and more seating area and a balcony on the second floor. All very tastefully decorated...
I had the Goat cheese & beetroot Crostini as a starter and my friend had the Carpaccio and my main was Quinoa & beetroot sald with balsamic vinegar and my friend had the Parma ham pizza... The presentation was absolutely top notch and it tasted very good as well :)
With soft drinks and coffee it came to 20 USD each, which we felt was very reasonable.
I would certainly recommend this restaurant...
Read moreThis restaurant is so great - the food is delicious and the drink options are great! The pizzas at Penh. 278 is nothing like any of the other pizzas in Phnom Penh and I have had my fair share - it is SO good and tasty and the base is so crispy and perfect. Their Sunday Roast menu is also excellent and delicious. The menu may seem a bit pricier for Cambodia, but it is still very much affordable and the quality + taste delivers.
The service is very good and fast which is fantastic. I love the outdoor atmosphere, despite the heat, but it is great. All the staff are really friendly (shout-out to Mary, the manager + Cat, the main bartender/waiter). The atmosphere was a bit lacking only because there were not as many customers, but I believe they're going to make some changes and I have no doubt it will become a popular place for families and groups in...
Read moreService: I ordered around 6.40pm and it took over 45 minutes for my Mango Chicken Cashew Stir Fry to arrive. When my food finally arrived I was advised the delay was because the staff could not handle the capacity of orders as apparently there was a large group "in the garden." Indoor area was quite empty. It also took over 30 minutes for me to be given table water. Near the end, I was offered a free dessert (value $5) on the house for the delay.
Food: Stir Fry a little inconsistently cooked with some dry bits. Sauce flavour quite nice mixed with the mango. Lovely presentation. Brownie not bad, though the texture is closer to cake. Presentation quite nice.
Atmosphere: Restaurant has a nice ambience indoors. Lovely decor and seating.
Other notes: Menu prices exclude 10% VAT but this is written on the menu...
