Very disappointed with the training & management of this particular branch. Mocha was good.
Though staff had an endearing attitude & greeted you once you stepped through the door, their training in service is apparently lacking.
Firstly, all the servers gathered in the front to chitchat. This cafe has many blind spots due to its unique layout but I did not notice any staff attending to patrons sitting at the back of the cafe so should they need help they'll have to go to the counter located at the entrance. A better deployment of staff in each area will be good.
Furthermore, this outlet doesn't serve water after ordering unless requested. Perhaps my experience at Brown coffee in Siem Reap was too good that it set my expectations higher for this particular Phnom Penh outlet.
Thirdly, the cutlery given was erroneous. My croissant was heated (without asking if I wanted it warm) and I was given a dessert fork and butter knife. If a butter knife was to be offered, surely the customers should be informed upon ordering their options for jam/butter/whatsoever. But there was no such option leaving the utensils useless. I remember at the siem reap outlet, a teaspoon came with my cake though a dessert fork is very much preferred instead. Not only so, I was given a fork and knife with my pasta. The server did not seem to understand why I asked for a spoon and brought me another set of fork and knife though this was later corrected. Lol.
Last but not least, no one asked if I wanted to clear my finished plates. Personally I just hate a messy table after finishing a meal.
Ordered the buccatini, spaghetti was overcooked and not al dente. Taste...
Read moreOne of the best, if not the best, coffee shops in Cambodia. The store interiors are stunning, and each branch showcases its own unique Khmer essence and style. The staff are incredibly friendly, polite, and always ready to assist. Perfect spot to work, study, or meet up, whether alone or with friends. Personally, while the food might not be the best, it’s certainly not the worst. However, the coffee and pastries are excellent for the price. I’ve lost count of how many times I keep coming back. Love the consistency in service and product quality across every branch. Highly recommended!!
3.5/5 for the foods - decent but not exceptional 5/5 for the coffee and...
Read moreI was in a different Brown coffee yesterday, and made a point to try this one today. Not only great coffee, but very calm and peaceful spaces to relax in. (I just finished a tour of the Killing Fields/Tuol Sleng and really need a place to collect my thoughts!) I’m so impressed with this chain and brand, I’ll probably try a third one tomorrow (And although I own stock in Starbucks, and frequent them at home - they could learn some lessons from you about service and quality!) Excellent service from young people who great you with a smile and truly welcome you -...
