We had a surprisingly terrible dinner experience with my parents and a friend of mine who is Khmer. However, before that restaurant was known as a place for fine dining. First of all, they tried to charge us more by including a wrong price of one dish (12,5$ instead of 8$). I had to ask for the menu and point at the price to the staff. They brought another bill without even a word of apologize or smile. Amok I ate wasn't proper (they didn't put enough variety of herbs, neither coconut cream) and expensive (about 8$). My mom ordered chicken fillet, but was brought chicken bones with several chicken butts! We had to ask to replace it. The service was slow and not much friendly (though I was polite and didn't express my anger). A few times I needed to stand up and walk to the staff gathering in a distance not observing the table at all, which is not ok for such level of a restaurant. The restaurant was closing and they simply started to turn off the light without saying a word to us, even we still had some food left on the table. While leaving we asked where is the toilet and were told that it's closed already. We ignored that and went to the toilet, which was open and with lights on. Our dinner with one inexpensive bottle of wine was almost 80$. Apart nice wooden interior and the river view it doesn't worth to pay a visit or moreover...

Our friend spotted this restaurant with an eagle eye - we were looking for a place to dine after the night market, hoping for an air conditioned place. And our phones have no connection.
Walking into this restaurant, we decided, no a/c is ok, which turned out to be just fine.
On the river. Open air. Above Warsteiner party boats. Takes Visa credit cards. Although our Casillero del Diablo Chardonnay (2023) wasn't totally chilled, but the excellent stems definitely made up for it.
For food, we've
buffalo skewers with lemongrass stir-fried buffalo with lemongrass steamed fish with lime juice seafood fried rice
All are good. The buffalo is bit tougher than beef but is yummy. The fried rice is al dente, delicious and clean (not greasy). ... which brings up my last fried rice at another restaurant in Tampa, Florida, it was greasy and is suing me for my review at this moment, inconveniently as I'm out of the country. (Thanks to the internet, got a lawyer and let's go!) Oh well. I would think when a business appreciate customers feedback to improve,...
Read moreDo not be deceived by the aesthetics/ fanciness of this restaurant. I ordered chicken and shrimp vegetable spring rolls and vegetable curry. The spring rolls were probably the worst I’ve ever eaten but somehow they were still far better than my main. The vegetables in my curry were so hard they could not have been cooked for longer than 2 minutes. The curry itself lacked flavour and was cold. To make matters even worse the service was slow and not the friendliest. This place is more expensive than your average restaurant in Cambodia yet by far the worst I’ve been to here. I feel like all I did was waste my money eating here. A few hours after eating I also started to have stomach pains which lasted all night. Please AVOID this place.
It seems like all they care about is trying to appear as a high end restaurant from their interior design, food presentation (e.g. serving food in coconut shells and leaves) and dressing staff in suit trousers and button up shirts. I feel like this is exactly how they trick so many tourists into...
