Pra-Tna Guesthouse and Coffee — Hotel in Khan Daun Penh

I have given this place 4 stars because I believe it is exactly what it says on the tin. It was very cheap and very central. The room was spotless and the air con and fan kept the room cool (would recommend leaving them on all the time as the room took a while to cool). The staff were very helpful and booked our tuk tuk to the killing fields and our coach to Siem Riep. They gave us free water on arrival, on our first night and whenever we were in the reception area they brought over an ice cold glass. The beds were comfortable but the room is very very basic so don't go expecting the Ritz. The bathroom was okay if very dated and the shower was always hot (even with all 3 of us showering) but not very powerful. Towels provided. The location is excellent a 5 minute walk to the river. At night it can feel a little grotty but as 3 young women we were fine. Top tip: don't panic if you arrive back and the door is bolted and gated.... There is someone in reception to let you in! NOGO||1) On 8. September the Stuff locked all emergency exit. Before opend and nothing happend that they have a reason for.|If you have a fire downstair nobody can help you.||2) I dont like the cables next to the water.||3) The pricelist for damage items is funny.|For 150$ a tv greate like a Tablet. |7$ for a cocacola glas... |And the tv remote control is a 1$ objekt.||I stay here with wife and two years old child. Before the owner and the stuff was very friendly and we like it. |But on 8. September the owner was out and the stuff on the reception locked the windows. I ask him why you closed the windows upstair. But he answer me very short with a unfriendly voice: |"Yes i close and i not open again".|I say: but if have a fire here , how i get out of here? |The answer is: pfff |And he put the shoulders 2 times up.||So if it was the plan to make me angry...|I am angry now. I check out directly and never come back.|And everybody have to know that your life is here not...

Cheap and nasty. No food, no coffee, no bar. I got locked out (of the hotel) and had to argue with the night reception to prove who I was because I didn't have ID on me. Mould on the walls, cobwebs on the cieling and don't mention the bum gun. It was disgusting but you get what you pay for. The staff need a lesson or two on the meaning of hospitality. I have never such unhappy staff in all my travels. But you get what you pay for and at $12usd per night for a fan room, it was cheap and close to the Riverside area. But there will never be a "next time". Good luck for them. Look...
