I had the pleasure of dining at the Tell Steak House in Siem Reap Province and I can confidently say it is the best restaurant in the area. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere that immediately made me feel welcome. The highlight of the dining experience was undoubtedly the food. The menu offered an impressive selection of steak options, all cooked to perfection. The quality of the meat was outstanding - tender, succulent, and bursting with flavor. Each bite was a delight for the taste buds. The sides and accompaniments were equally impressive, complementing the steaks perfectly. Not only was the food exceptional, but the service was also impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure that every aspect of the dining experience exceeded expectations. They provided excellent recommendations and were always on hand to assist with any requests. In addition to the wonderful food and service, the ambiance of the restaurant was truly captivating. The tasteful decor, soft lighting, and soothing background music created an intimate and romantic setting. It was the perfect place for a special occasion or a memorable evening with loved ones. Overall, the Tell Steak House in Siem Reap Province is a culinary gem. The combination of exceptional food, impeccable service, and enchanting ambiance makes it a standout restaurant in the area.    Read moreThe food was good here. I ordered the 150g Australian steak. I liked the smokiness of my grilled steak. I asked for medium cooked and it was made just how I preferred. My broccoli was nicely made, not over cooked, it was nice that they added a little corn to it. My bf got the sizzling platter. He said his steak was how he liked it, med rare and the beef was tender. Mine was a bit chewy but I think itâs because I liked it more cooked.
The restaurant looked beautiful walking from the outside in. Inside was however strange. The servers were dressed in costumes, which I guess has some reference or theme. The tables were nicely set, but the lighting threw me off. It was fully lit and bright inside. There seemed to be more locals than tourists, which is a good sign that the food must be good. But there were kids running around the night we were there- 8pm. Aside from screaming kids, the big table next to us were really loud men drinking beer. From the look on the outside, I thought it was more fine, quiet type of dining but there was no music playing in the background. Bright lights to me indicate a family friendly place that is usually loud but the outside looked more high end.
Overall, very good food and service. Atmosphere was too chaotic and REALLY loud. It hard to enjoy food when people are screaming and kids running around. Maybe it was just that night but ambience and setting tells me itâs not. Ambience adds to the experience, therefore I donât see myself...
Read moreIt is quite unusual for me to take time to rate what is not a 5 or a 1 star...but in all fairness i gave Tell another shot. The first time i had to rate it a 1star...this was pre covid madness and in it's old location. To be fair, today i ordered the same dish i had back then, sausage lover platter with Sauerkraut. The setting is great, background lounging music pleasant, service is extremely courteous and well trained. So far all 5 star. Perhaps this establishment deserves another shot with a different dish...because the sausage platter was very disappointing. The Sauerkraut was definitely not home made (reminded me more of a canned n microwaved portion) and when the menue specifies a veal sausage i would expect at least a real Bratwurst, not â of an Olma sausage. The ThĂŒringer sausage and the "Cervelat" were standard Eurola sausages out of Angkor market. All in all said, it seems Tell has not yet managed a chef that can make this signature Swiss dish with it's own in house ingredients. I believe that premium prices ask for premium ingredients but it seem difficult, even in Tell, to find the real deal and not some processed food out of Thailand. I am inclined to give it another shot but am worried because last time the grilled potatoes were excellent, in fact the highlight, while this time...well...i only...
