We just dined here and what a disaster. 1st, the info and menu online are for the old Restaurant, not this version. We ate at the old one and it was great... this one, not so much. For starters, the menu is completely changed, and not for the better. Its well priced, until you eat the food and then, maybe not! We arrived at 745 and it was empty... should have been a sign. Saw the menu and asked where all the smokehouse stuff was.... gone! So, my wife ordered the chicken tacos, and I ordered the pulled pork. The pork was out of a bag from a food service supplier, pretty average. everything here looks like it comes out of a bag or package and gets re-heated... Except my wife's tacos, which ended up being one of the worst items we have ever been served in a restaurant. It was small cubed chicken, in a corn tortilla, with cheese and lettuce. EXCEPT- nothing was heated or cooked, like even a little. The pre cooked chicken was just pulled out of the bag from the fridge, put into a cold shell, with cold lettuce and cheese. Awful! We would have complained, but we were starving , and our server was busy with no other tables , so we had no one to complain to until 5 minutes after we finished. We told her what the tacos were like, cold , not cooked. She exclaimed, thats weird, i will have to check on that. Well, if she did, she never came back to report her findings. She just brought the bill and the CC machine. No sorry, no can we offer you a 2nd drink, desert, or god forbid, comp that meal. Nope just pay up, Im kinda busy. For the 1st time in many many years, i left no tip. she sensed we were upset but its like , oh well, better luck next time. If you read some of the recent 5 star reviews, let me assure you these were left by family or friends.... not real customers. This is bad pre fab bar food from management that could seemingly care less.
But here's the catch. Canmore is full of Restaurants, good ones. Bad ones disappear and thats probably where this should be headed. You can only survive with a false website and garbage food for so long. If you think .... ah , its just tourists, we will just wait for the next ones to come along! Remember, Tourists write...
Read moreThis was the worst food my boyfriend I ever had, and service was not very good. My boyfriend I decided to stop in for a quick snack and ordered the flatbread & fries on the side. After 20 minutes we were told that they didn’t have bacon for the flat bread and pushed for us to get the smoked quesadilla, but a cook poked their head around the corner saying that they did have bacon. After 10 minutes the server came and said that they 100% didn’t have bacon, and pushed for the smoked quesadilla but said it would be on the house which we accepted. We are very grateful for being able to afford to eat out but what they gave us was the worse food we have ever eaten. The quesadilla was canned vegetables, was cold and the tortilla shell was not even cooked. Yes, the food was free but it was not even worth (homemade quesadillas would have been 100% better) and had no hint of smoked quesadilla like they said. The server never came to see how our food was and we actually had to go up to the hostess stand to get our bill because no one checked on us or came to give us the bill when we were done. (Keeping in mind there were 3 other people in the restaurant and the table beside us was also having issues with their food) My boyfriend and I have both worked in the service industry but this experience was so bad that we decided to write a review so that people won’t spend their hard earned money on this place when times are so hard for everyone, PLEASE do...

We got a table right away as it wasn't overly busy, patio was about half full and few people inside. The place is a little rough on the edges when you first go in. The server was friendly but seemingly working all the tables on her own, so the first drink order to when we ordered food took about 20 minutes. We were on a riding cruise with no serious time line so it wasn't too big of a deal. Just slightly big enough of deal to mention. After the food order was in, it took maybe 20 minutes to get our food. Which was decent. Two of the guys ordered the brisket sandwich, 1 got the Bison burger and I got the pulled pork sandwich. I can only pass on that they said their food was really good. Mine, the pulled pork sandwich, was really good as well. The pork was tender and flaky, the BBQ sauce had the perfect spice to it so it had a bit of a kick but didn't overwhelm you. It was topped with a slaw which is a touch I personally enjoy. The fries were quite good as well. I wouldn't hesitate going here again. If you, like us today, find yourself standing on the sidewalk trying to figure out what to eat, there are several options in Canmore, but if you haven't been here yet, you should...
