KRAFT DINNER was LITERALLY SERVED TO US. On February 9th, 2019 we went to Finn MacCools Cross Iron. Kids ordered macaroni and cheese. Waited about 15 min and the kids received their food. We looked at it and said that that looks familiar. We asked the server if it was KRAFT DINNER, he went to Kitchen to confirm and he said yes. We asked for something else, kids ordered Chicken Strips which was good and homemade. Full Disclosure upon ordering would have been great. Even better would have been to take it off the menu. Advertised on menu as "oooey goooey mac and cheese" - I asked for Manager, Andy came over, we told him that it was like trying to pull a fast one on a customer. He said that this decision came from the powers that be. He offered a ice tea refill to one of my kids, we said yes, in the anticipation that the $1.00 cost of the refill would be covered, but NO, that was ultimately charged. We ate, asked for the bill and no loyalty was offered, there was no gesture.."we made a mistake" and resold KRAFT DINNER branded macaroni to our customer (yes the blue box in the grocery store with the powdered cheese, yes powdered-$2.00 cost, usually $99 cents on sale). Except they charged $7.95 per bowl. I asked ANDY the manager IF there was anything he could do to keep our loyalty, gave him an opportunity to fix this, i.e $1.00 off our bill for the refill, 1 of 3 beers covered, one kids meal covered, anything. He said NO....NO GESTURE. I then told him that I was going to go on social media and was going to post bad reviews about the experience. He said, "please go online and tell us about your feedback and well take it into consideration." WELL here I am at 2:18am on Sunday to make my review. It tool 25 min to write this post
We ate the Lamb Burger which was great and Fish and Chips great. Tarter sauce amazing, kids chicken strips great. You should switch to kenebec fries, but nobody is perfect. Our server was very nice and built some rapport with acknowledging that a box of KRAFT DINNER was $2.00. Ill be back for beers, ill know what...
Read moreWe were greeted and gave us an option as where to sit, bar or dining area. We picked the bar, and regretted that I did. The service wasn't up to the basic standards of the waitress (smile, and the feeling of not wanting to work there, the server made us wait 20 minutes afterpayme20 a few times for a debit machine for payment) in my opinion.
I had no booze lemonade with ginger and it was refreshing for our meal, but you may have to request less ice and a little easy on the sweetness.
The food on the other hand were amazing. We ordered shepard's pie with greens on the salad. Fish and chips, and french onion soup.
The shepard's pie had an ultra soft texture of mashed potatoes, which I wished there were more. The contents of the pie had a burst of flavors from meat to veggies and definitely cooked well. The green salad on the side provided a contrast bitterness of taste which complimented well.
The fish and chips were well made; the batter was crispy and solid to hold the fish together as I ate it. The tartar sauce had a nice balance of flavors and not too overpowering. You can taste the Guinness in the batter too.
French onion soup was well done to the point that it doesn't taste like instant mix powder. It was tasty, not too salty, and had enough onions and cheese lathered in it.
Overall, pick the dining area for a better service and I will be back for more to try out...
Read moreHave never eaten here before and decided to try something new. What a WASTE of money!!! Tried their burgers- the patties were terribly unseasoned and relied soley on flavor from surrounding elements. While my husband was able to muster through it I sent mine back after one bite (and I NEVER send things back). The server was understanding and very graciously offered that I could order something else. Got the mac and cheese instead and holy cow that was terrible too. Tasted overwhelmingly like a floral garlic cream sauce and the "chicken" that was in it was probably destined for the trash but made it into my bowl. No cheese flavor of any variety to be found. I took my leftovers with me in hopes to eat it for lunch but after one bite the next day threw that away too as I hate to waste food but did not want to experience this terrible dish again. My first time here but after inadvertantly trying 2 terrible dishes it will also have been my last visit! Out of all the other options in the mall... respect your hard earned money and...
