Stoped by to pick up some food for a picnic at Quarry Lake.
Grabbed a turkey sandwich, chocolate croissant and a bag of blueberry scones.
The turkey sandwich was really good. The veggies tasted fresh and the bread was excellent.
The chocolate croissant was a little disappointing. Not much chocolate in it. Maybe we just got unlucky?
The blueberry scone was really good. It has TONS of blueberries in it. Heck I generally don't even care for scones but I love blueberries and this had so much I had to give it a try. Very glad I did.
Plenty of free parking and a decent amount of tables if you're looking to have a meal or coffee there.
Service was a little hit and miss. One lady was really nice who took our order but another lady that rung us up seemed miffed when I asked for a receipt for whatever reason. But I've noticed in Canada lots of places don't give a receipt so maybe I'm the annoying one?
There's no shortage of good bakeries in Canmore and Banff but I thought they did good enough that I would go back if I were on a...
Read moreI really loved the selection of artisan bread and pastries - absolutely incredible. I settled on a maggiolini baguette, and got a dark roast drip coffee. Food and beverages were delicious.
The atmosphere is super relaxed and quaint. I love the decore , and that they present and sell paintings and photography from local artists. I found a nice corner to set up my computer to do some work.
The only thing that I was a little sad about is that they don't offer Wi-Fi. They have a message written on a chalkboard in the cafe: "We don't have Wi-Fi ! Talk to each other!" . I didn't come with anyone, I just wanted to work. I was still able to do some of what I needed to do, but ended up moving to another cafe with Wi-Fi so I could finish up.
If you come here with someone else 5/5, awesome place to hang out and chat while enjoying a beverage or pastry from a large and delicious selection.
Was not very busy when I was there between 9:30 and 10 am...
Read moreUpon getting there and ordering, I already felt some weird attitude coming from the barista.
Nonetheless, we ordered our overpriced coffees, and they tasted really bad. Pretty upsetting when you want to support local, but it's not good quality?
I later asked if there was WiFi available, and I was told 'we don't have that here, we like people to talk to each other instead of being wrapped up in their phone'.
That was out of line. I was sitting there with my laptop, and I told her I have a math test to complete. Why assume anyone's situation? If you don't have WiFi, just say so.
To be honest, providing WiFi is a basic customer service for coffee shops. But if you said no, that would have been fine. Don't be condescending to...
