It’s a really famous pizzeria. The food is absolutely amazing. Homemade dough is definitely a must try. We are a couple of Asian friends. Not sure if this play a role but hope the story would tell. How ever the service was disappointing. It is not a busy Sunday evening, plenty of open tables. She greeted us without introducing herself (perhaps Beth, as the bill shown), which is fine. While we were tore between all the fabulous options we had, she came and ask if she could started with some drinks (we didn’t touch the drink menu as she doesn’t even introduced us the menu). I kindly ask if there’s any local beers she simply answered: “everything is local”, and stood there staring at her note, which was already a red flag since she doesn’t even bother to introduced the brand and the difference. She came back and we order two amazing pizza, as you can see from the pics I posted. I kindly asked her if we could have the pizza double cheesed. She answered with a cold tone and emphasized that there’s gonna be a surcharge. I thought it’s just her characteristic until there’s a family of 4 whose skin tone is lighter. She was bright and attentive to them. She engaged in small talks and was way more attentive. Her demeanor the entire time was quite indifference and giving the vibe that she did not want us around. Fast forward to the end, I asked for the bill and there a discrepancy between the amount on the given bill and the machine. I kindly asked her if there’s a misunderstanding. She didn’t even explain, just tap tap on the terminal, and grab the bill SHE gave saying “that’s not your bill” and “grabbed” it from the table without saying sorry. While being cold and passively rude to us, she chatted with the family next to us with warmth. I ended up left only 10% tip to her because I really cannot find a reason for her behavior. I wasn’t quite comfortable and find it quite unpleasant. Therefore, decided to leave the message to let the management team know. Hope she changes...
Read moreWe walked in on the first come first serve queue being the 3rd table as a party of 7 adults n 2 young children. Were told it'd be a 20-30mins wait which we accepted in view of a few tables were finishing their meals. 3 tables were leaving within 3-4 mins of each other. 1st to leave was a large table of 6-8 seats, n was given to the 1st on list - a party of 4 leaving 2 empty seats n possibly extendable to 8 with seats at both ends. The next 2 tables were 4 seaters, the hostess gave the tables to 2nd in queue.... And skipped us to the 4th... So at the rate of this arrangement logic... A table with exactly 9 seats wouldn't be possibly available at a fair nor reasonable time. So I asked the hostess..... Why would she choose to give the big table to the 4 people and leave 2 seats out free? Her answered was because they came first. Ok so if we fairly following the first come first serve basis. Then why is that second small table not offered to us? But skipped to the next in queue?.. then she said because she thought we would want to sit together... And my answer was.. "well we weren't provided with the option of split seating?" The hostess stumbled on that answer and just rudely slashed at us "well you just have to wait." TURNED HER BACK N WALKED OFF....... ????... I think what got us angry was her attitude in the whole conversation where we were leading to ask if we can just have any next table despite of size since the kids were getting really hungry... But anyway with her attitude and random table arrangement rule, we just left to find a nice little pizza restaurant down the street. And it was a very pleasant...
Read moreAfter a great day at Emerald and Moraine Lake we were pretty hungry and decided to stop by this place. We figured award winning pizza and pasta sounded really good.
Well after spending such a nice day in Banff and Yoho hiking around in the beautiful and peaceful locations we got here and opened the door to find...it's a very LOUD place. Like cafeteria style loud plus a little more. Now if that's fine with you more power to you but we were looking for someplace you don't have to speak very loudly to hear each other talk...which only contributes to the noise in the place.
So if you're looking for a more quiet ambiance this isn't it and the rest of the review will not matter. Ambiance no stars.
Food! We ordered a large half Sun-dried tomatoes and half The Meats pizza. It took a long time for our food to arrive after ordering. It was packed but still it took close somewhere around 20+ minutes. The crust is a thin style with decent crunch to it. The topping for The Meats side was VERY generous and overall pretty good. The sun-dried tomatoes side was lacking. The mushrooms were sliced so thin it was comical. At least they were generous with the goat cheese so there is that. Overall the pizza would earn a 3 stars. We ate at Red Rock Pizza and much preferred theirs.
Service was lacking. We were checked on once without having to wave someone over which was to ask for refills of water. Service was 2 stars.
Price was 30 even for the pizza. For reference Red Rock Pizza has a Date Nite special $30 with a huge salad and 2 small pizzas...we had left overs there. We could eat the...
