My wife and I went to this pub after looking around for something that was still open, we got told by our first choice that we could not go because we were not staying at the hotel that restaurant was in and is we want food go to the gas station.... I will leave the restaurant unnamed.

When looking for this pub we went to a different hotel and went to the wrong restaurant again! Our bad! The people at that restaurant were so incredibly nice in directing us where to go night and day difference from the other experience.

Now here's where the magic begins! We got to the pup, we sat down, they are all so friendly, we made sure the grill was still open, and it was this was around 10:00 p.m.

My wife and I could not decide what we wanted I was going back and forth between the burger and the chicken burger, which I'm going to refer to as the chicken sandwich from here on out. My wife was trying to debate between the pizza and the nachos. She got the nachos those too are amazing!

When the waitress, I believe her name was Janet it might have been Jane started with a J... Came over she asked "Any questions on the menu? Are you debating between two? " I said "I'm debating between the burger and the chicken sandwich" and she said "The chicken sandwich all the way! After you eat this you will be willing to sell your first born child for another!" Well I thought you know I've had a lot of chicken sandwiches in my life, I've even tried to find the best chicken sandwich in my area but boy howdy was my mind about to be blown!

I took that first bite of that sandwich and my life was pure Bliss! The flavors exploded nothing that was too overpowering there's a sweet, there was a tangy, after the first bite I was willing to sell my first born child for a second bite! I'm glad I didn't have too!

I hope you can tell by this review I'll give this pub a 5 out of 5! The staff was amazing, the service was wonderful, and the food was to die for!

If I was in charge of rating giving Michelin stars this would be a three-star restaurant!

If you don't know, one star being this is definitely worth a stop if you're nearby two stars being this is definitely worth going out of your way if you're on a trip and three stars being this place alone is worth taking a trip to. I live roughly about 17 hours away from this restaurant and I would happily drive that 17 hours just to get that sandwich again.

TL;DR 5 out of 5 hands down! atmosphere is fun, service was great, open late, and the chicken sandwich is worth your...

Visited on Feb 19, and they were quite busy (likely because the main restaurant had a 4 course dinner for $165, no a la carte) We were greeted at the door by a server, a French girl who was very apologetic and professional. We were then checked in on by another gentleman, also a server. Also professional. We were then greeted and sat by the hostess, she was super professional and very accommodating. (Referring to someone in a hoody and camouflage hat as Sir is big points, as I felt out of place in my super casual clothing. She should be waiting tables based on this metric alone.)

Our server (Louie, not sorry if i spelled it wrong, as only the hostess mentioned his name, but he didn't) was absolutely abysmal. He greeted us with an "Hi are you ready to order?" Overheard his interactions with the table next to us, and clearly knew how to talk to tables. Just actively chose to treat us like we were at a drive through. (We were not dressed up, very casual, but not homeless.)

Every single other server was busting their hump, prebussing tables, running food. I had to ask to have more water, as my glass was bone dry, which if I'm dropping 50 dollars on a beer and a burger, I'd figure the cost comes from the service.

He did a quality check 20 minutes after our food was dropped off. 👌 He is either completely inept, or chose not to give us good service; either way, we definitely drew the short straw on servers.

The food was good, arrived hot, so the kitchen staff are clearly 'on it', however the experience was soured by a menu with a 20 dollar grilled cheese and fries on the kid's menu.

I've worked in several restaurants as a waiter, from casual to fine dining, and cannot fathom why this server hasn't been let go. I gave him a semi decent tip in hopes that he's saving up for a backpacking trip so that future patrons of this pub won't have to endure such...

Very busy, had to wait but well worth it.

The pub is attached to a hotel but does cater for non-residents. They do not take reservations.

We were in the area in early July. On our first night we drove to the pub and found it to be very busy with no tables available. We were asked if we wanted to wait as a space at the bar would become available shortly if we wanted it. We said we would.

The pub itself is not very big but is extremely popular. The menu is small but there is something for everyone. There were tv screens on the walls showing baseball.

We’ve never sat and eaten at a bar before but the casual nature of the evening made it a good spot to sit and eat. We had a great conversation with the couple next to us who we found out were in the car behind us that day taking pictures of a bear on the Icefields Parkway near Bow Lake.

We only had one course as there were no starters (only soup and salad) listed on the menu. However, the portion size of the mains was more than adequate to satisfy the soul.

Having tried poutine in Nova Scotia (and not liking it much), I decided to try the pub’s bison brisket poutine. And wow, so much better. The brisket was tender and fell apart and the poutine had the right amount of saltiness so as not to be overpowering. The generous portion size meant I couldn’t finish it. I could see it was a popular dish as more and more plates were coming from the kitchen. My husband had a burger and chips and he said his was good too.

We also had a couple of beers and a soft drink. Total bill with...

My wife and I had a great experience here at Outpost Pub. Jenny was our waitress for the evening and approached us with enthusiasm and a truckload of positive energy. The servers are knowledgeable of their beer selection which includes provincial beers as well as a varying rotating tap (when we were here, it was a Belgian beer). I am a burger snob from San Diego and would give my burger here an 8/10 which is still really good in my book. I usually get medium rare, but by law the burger meat needed to be cooked well done. I was surprised to find the burger meat to be as hydrated and tasteful as what I would have expected from being cooked medium rare. The fries are not spectacular but I wouldn't take away a star just for that. Great ambiance, great staff, decently priced meal for being in an area like Lake Louise. I would definitely come back here to dine on a future trip. Just know especially on weekends there can be long wait times.
