THIS REVIEW HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH FOOD QUALITY OR THE CASHIER WORKING.
I hate to write bad reviews when I love the product, especially when there is another person indirectly involved, however this one left me speechless.
I went in about 30 minutes ago to get a BT (I’m not typing beaver tail out every time. Sorry.) and was very politely and enthusiastically greeted by the cashier. She listened intensively and took all my suggestions to heart with a small on her face the whole time. She even let me try a sample of each of the ice creams they had today so I could know which one would go good with my BT. We finally settled on avalanche with salted caramel.
Before moving to the end of the line to pick up my BT I asked if I could get it sliced into sections and put in a box as I would be walking and sharing it. She said she didn’t know but she would check. Unfortunately it got busy when 9 people walked in at once so I told her absolutely don’t worry about it.
I really wish I got her name for a shoutout, but if her bosses see this, it was one of the two ladies working at 6:32 PM on Sunday June 2 2024, (this is not meant to sound racist) but the only way I can think to describe the other girl is ESL, tall (for a lady), blonde. German accent I think.
After going to pick my BT up at the end of the line is when I had the most unfortunate encounter with the person preparing them, we will call her Shegor. After like I was an idiot asking if she could cut them into sections, cut me off in between responding to her and asking a couple other questions
May I have a box to put it in please? .. (with the utmost agitated and sarcastic sigh) “no we don’t do that we never have.”
Me: well that’s funny, I was in here a couple days ago and they put it in a box for me without my even asking.
“Well we don’t, I don’t, she shouldn’t have and I don’t have any boxes out here anyway. I have customers so I am not going to the back.”
Sure. Whatever, we have all had those days. I had one of those days last Tuesday lol.
I asked for a fork and knife as well as a spoon since I got ice cream on top.
“No I am only doing one. We only give out spoon unless you pay extra and ask at cash.”
No big deal I understand! I can just get them now and then pay on my way out the door! You can even hold onto my BT until I pay.
(With attitude I’d only ever seen in movies) “no it is too late now. You want so many things. You did not tell cashier and now only telling me that is not the rules. You want to pay later you are not special. We do not cut things as it is too hard to make properly (I also explained I meant after it was fried not before.) she still refused. I reiterated that the last time I was there I didn’t even ask for a box and was given one. I had a toonie an a loonie in my hand and was more than willing to just give the two girls working 2.50 change as tips if I could just get a fork and knife. She r o l l e d her e y e s. I wasn’t going to write a review but rolling your eyes at someone, to me, is the ultimate sign of disrespect and she needs to be disciplined.
This review in NO way is commenting on the cashier or the food quality. Just the bittie making the food. The cashier even apologized and gave me 2x fork knives and spoons, a nice stack of napkins, and three extra of those little folded bags that they come in automatically. (I paid for the utensils and bags just so she’s in the clear and won’t get in trouble :3)
Tl;Dr —— the cashier deserves a raise and promotion and to be cross trained immediately, so that she has the opportunity to make the product as well, and the cook today can do anything else. The cook today needs to...
Read moreGreat comfort food but it's a turn off having crazy staff who doesn't know about restrictions. 2 weeks ago me and my partner tried the food here. In the morning we tried the west location and evening in this location. If ever you arw in Banff , WARNING !!! PLEASE DON'T COME TO THIS LOCATION AS YOU WILL JUST RUIN YOUR DAY ESP. IF YOU ARE IN VACATION. Staff will let you order - in person , but once you ordered , without hesitation THEY WILL SEND YOU OUT AND WAIT THERE IN THIS COLD WEATHER , BUSY OR NOT. Once you refuse , they will threaten you to call 📞 the police . How crazy is that . All restaurants who is following the covid-19 restrictions will let you order in person and will not force you to wait outside. The fact that this restaurant does not have the dine in options, basically you will take your order once its done. BUT WORKERS ARE PLAYING IT SO WEIRD TRYING TO HIDE BY THE WALL BECAUSE I WAS TELLING HER I WILL ONLY LEAVE ONCE I GOT MY ORDERS BECAUSE I KNOW IT WILL ONLY TAKE MAYBE 4 MINS. If I were the owner, I will fire that worker ( cashier ). She does not have a pleasing attitude to begin with. She is a bi*ch . I've seen the reply of the owner from one review and in my case , mask 😷 is not the issue as I am wearing even a double mask , and also a wearing a face cover as outside is really cold. The issue here is your staffs are overreacting and so are the owner. You are making your own restrictions basically as the restrictions you are posting inside your restaurant is NOT EVEN AHS restriction. I should know because I...
Read moreI so love beavertails. The time we arrived Banff we headed to this place right away. As usual, cravings sold. But i did get an unexpected experience.
I ordered 7 beavertails, 4 with half and half flavors (this is a good option to be able to taste more flavors) and 3 with single flavor. We were three that time and my friend was holding 2 cups on his hand.. I requested for a box (they usually have boxes for large orders) but unfortunately they dont have. No bag as well and it was snowing heavily outside (Feb 5, 2021; 3:27PM). So with that we have to carry the 7 pastries outside, wit no cover, box or bag. So we ended up asking my husband to pick us up since there is no parking in front of the store. To be able to call, my friend put down the pastries and took her from the pocket. The cashier (she was alone) told us we cant eat inside. I told her we are not eating.. please give us 1 minute to be able to call so we can quickly leave. She told us we have to leave as there was 1 customer outside who wanted to buy. I told her we will leave quickly after the call. We just cant hold the pastries on our hands and at the same time calling. So we ended up going outside holding the pastries one over the other in the heavy snow. She was just so rude that time.. the call did not even took 1 minute... and ask us to quickly leave the store even if were still trying to figure out how are going to take the pastries to our hotel. I hope she don't do the same to...
