Been here a few times, food is good and very reasonable and well-portioned for the price-- and not the reason for leaving this review. Customer service out of the times I've been has been a little lackluster i.e. no check ins and having to flag down for the bill-- no big deal to me.. although this time was actually quite terrible and not good for business retention, regardless of food and price.
Loud ongoing discussion of personal issues in the open, zero check ins (just me in the restaurant), zero attempt at positive hospitality-- I think I'd still be sitting there if I didn't flag down for the bill, then I asked to the rest of my giant pho bowl to go and was left with a container to try not to spill into as I did this -- finally as I was making my way I said thank you, see you later - zero response back. This type of review is extremely avoidable, because again, it had nothing to do with the food-- just felt like I made there day worse by coming by.
I still left a tip, but after the fact that felt a little...
Read moreI've been a few times - I do enjoy a good Vermicelli bowl on occasion, and sadly there aren't many options in the area to indulge. I wish that there WERE more options, as PHO DO THI really isn't that great. The service - slow and impersonal. The environment - serviceable. Feels a tad dingy and obviously hasn't been given any care in a long, long time. The prices - not horrible, but then again.... The food - not horrible, but then again.... I can only comment on the two items I have ordered multiple times - the cold spring rolls and the vermicelli with pork and spring-roll. And rather than blab on and on about them, really they can be summed-up with a shrug of the shoulders. They're edible, they resemble what I want in a weak kind of way, but it isn't very exciting and you're not likely to think "hey, can't wait until I get back there!". One detail I will share is that the pork in that particular vermicelli dish is VERY fatty and I find myself paying for about 40% of the pork that can't be eaten....
Read moreAverage. I'm a Vietnamese food lover, and I've eaten pho everywhere from Toronto Chinatown, to Hanoi alleyways, to Mississauga suburbs, to the outskirts of Seoul. Pho Mi T&T is average.
They brought me a fork without asking, so that speaks a lot about this restaurant's intended audience.
The shrimp rolls were pretty small compared to the better restaurants I've visited, not too special in flavour.
The pho soup had a very good broth. Good flavour and aroma. But I felt the beef wasn't rare enough and was fairly tough in texture. Noodles were average. Proportions of the soup were industry standard, nothing to complain about.
I liked the cleanliness of this place. I liked that the containers of hoisin and chili sauce were full to the brim. The chili sauce had a good bite to it.
Prices are fair. But I'll keep looking for other restaurants with better taste and...
