I had the pleasure of dining at Asadal and it exceeded all expectations. The restaurant’s warm and inviting ambiance set the stage for a truly memorable meal. The staff were attentive and provided insightful menu recommendations.
For our meal, we savored the Yukgaejang, Soondubu stew, and Egg roll. The Yukgaejang was a flavor explosion, with its robust and spicy profile providing both comfort and a zesty kick. The Soondubu stew was a silky delight, brimming with rich flavors, while the tofu added a creamy texture that was simply divine. The Egg roll was a perfect blend of fluffiness and savory goodness, concluding the meal on a high note.
The culinary expertise of the chefs at Asadal was evident in every dish, each one showcasing a meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of flavors.

Whether you’re a sushi aficionado or eager to explore Korean cuisine, this restaurant offers a culinary journey that will leave you eager for a return visit. Read moreI had high expectations for my recent visit to this restaurant, particularly since I’ve recommended it to many friends over this year. I was excited to share a dish of bibimbap with a friend, but I was disappointed when we were provided with only one set of utensils for the two of us.
In my experience, it's standard practice for restaurants to offer adequate utensils based on the number of guests, regardless of how many dishes are ordered. This was particularly surprising, as I have always enjoyed my meals here with larger orders in the past.
This experience not only disrupted our meal but also felt a bit inconsiderate, given the usual dining etiquette. I believe that small gestures, like ensuring that all guests have their own utensils, can significantly enhance the dining experience.
I hope the restaurant considers revisiting this policy, as it would contribute to better customer satisfaction and maintain the welcoming atmosphere that has made me a loyal patron. I genuinely appreciate the quality of the food and service, and I look forward to future visits with the hope of a more...
Read moreHidden gem in the heart of downtown! We got the mul-naengmyeon, sweet and spicy chicken, and seolleongtang. Starting with the mul-naengmyeon, this was probably one of the best if not the best I’ve had in Calgary! The portions were extremely generous and the all the elements (i.e egg, meat, cucumbers, radish, mustard, vinegar) were great! The fried chicken was also really juicy, the batter was crispy, and the sweet and spicy sauce was sticky and savoury! If I had one criticism, I think the seolleongtan could’ve had better depth of flavour. The soup comes out a bit bland and even though they provide pepper and salt, i was left wanting more flavour. I saw many other tables ordering spicy hot pot soups such as buddaejjigae so I’ll have to try that next time! Our meal came with three side dishes (garlic sprouts, kimchi, and kimchi radish). The fried chicken also came with regular radishes as well. Overall, I would come back and can’t wait to try more of their dishes! This spot is also owned by a nice Korean family, so got to...
