Donair Station — Restaurant in Calgary

Going to this place was the most unsettling experience. My girlfriend and I just moved into the neighbourhood and thought we’d try it. I can honestly say I will never return. I could have looked past the fact the whole place smelled of marijuana and the blasting obscene music if it wasn’t entirely teens in there including the workers. The moment we walked in we instantly felt unwelcome. We were stared down the whole time by all the teens in there. It felt like at any moment someone was going to start a fight. It was around midnight and there was no adult in sight! The boy who made our food kept forgetting our order and by the end of it the food was not good I can only assume he must have been stoned. He had no idea what went on the Greek salad and it was old. We had to tell him more than once what went on something that’s on the menu! I also got the beef donair and the beef was incredibly dry, so much I could only eat maybe half of it. The whole atmosphere was frightening to say the least and we couldn’t get out of there...

I was really disappointed with my recent experience at Donair Station. When I received my hookah, it was already burnt, barely producing any smoke, and the coals were almost entirely used up. After waiting a long time to get someone’s attention, I asked for fresh coals, only for the attendant to take burnt, leftover coals from a neighboring table (because the customers had left) and place them on my hookah instead. To top it off, I was charged $40 for a hookah that barely worked from the start. For the price, I expected much better service and quality. The food was very delicious but whomever was serving me seemed just a little bit too pushy about explaining what happened with a mistake in my order despite me already saying that it was fine and that I wasn't upset by any means. I ordered through DoorDash and placed a 2nd order to try and get what I initially wanted, and the person working was generous enough to make sure that what I ordered was correct. The food was enjoyable and I especially enjoyed the Beef Donair platter, which had a combination of vegetables and spices that I found very intriguing and of course the beef donair meat was tasty...
